I had the same problems with my MBP i5 Mid2010.

If I wasn't fast enough at login screen I got the annoying spinning whell and nothing goes. Only a hard reset brings the system back to work.

Another problem is the wake up from sleep. Only the keyboard lights goes on but the screen stays black.

Once I let the system in this sleep/no-sleep for a while. Wehn I went back the system was very very hot. The hot spot was at the position of the "Esc" key.

I called Apple Support and went to an AASP for a complete system check. The technician told me he cannot find any error at the system. The only thing was, that he cannont check the 3rd party SSD. The ASD tool can't find or address the disk.

I think I will go back tho AASP to change the logic board.

Again: a black screen of death. Only clicking on a conversation in Skype and … BSOD!
AND: Magic Mouse did not work correctly. I could not scrolling, Bluetooth Panel (above right) was very sluggish.

In Windows I haven't had a problem since upgrading to Lion. So the logic board isn't corrupt. It's a Lion bug – a f***ing bug.

That's not a valid assumption, since the video drivers are different between Windows and MacOS X.

Well, after reading all the posts here, I should have known that long drive to the Apple Store would be fruitless...

The folks at the Genius Bar wanted to keep my computer overnight to run their "super intensive" graphical hardware tests, whatever those are. Of course, they just called me back to say that there are "absolutely" no problems with my computer. Apparently my options are to try reinstalling Lion (which I've already done), and waiting for a software update. They were adamant that this will fix the problem, even though they say they've heard nothing about this issue before. Wait a sec, if this is the first they're hearing about it, then how are they so certain? Guess I'm not supposed to ask questions like that...

    Hello all.

I'm downloading the brand new beta 11C55.

    Has anyone already tried it?

just found out about this post.

I have Mac book pro 2010 as well and I have the same problem.

just not sure what to do with it as it crashes at least 5 times a day even with minimal usage.

and my kernel report looks like this:

I went to the Apple Store in Meadowhall Sheffield today and explained to them the problem. They insisted it was down to the fact that I installed Lion over Snow Leopard, they also denied there was any issue with the Macbook's logic board. They placed my Macbook Pro on a diagnostic, it passed all the tests.

I pushed them for a logic board replacement but they said they didn't want to replace something that "didn't need replacing" and they said it would cost *me* over £300 to replace.

Another guy then came up and said "should have stuck with Snow Leopard, dude"

I will try a clean install, just as a matter of playing ball with them but I'm not happy with this situation.

    Hello again,

for everyone that was holding his breath for the latest beta (11c55) well....

    breath normally. IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!

I will wait for the final 10,7,2 if by then they will not have fixed the problem, I'm sending the laptop to have the logic board switched.

(I would have done it already but beeing without my only production machine for a week or more is really a royal pain in the..) (I live in Italy so i expect at least 10 days of work lost)

Day after day, hour after hour … BSOD after waking up my MacBook Pro and reading the emails. Suddenly *what a surprise* black display.

After restarting, there was a announcement that I had to restart my Mac (in a box). The Mac restarts automaticly. Again: the same announcement, I did a hard reboot. MacBook Pro is running – again. AND: Again the Magic Mouse Bug.

So please, Apple, fix this problem. Strange: Jobs is away, the problems start. A curse?

Just got my MBP i7 2.66 with NIVIDIA 330M back after an out-of-warranty (and free) logic board replacement.  I can't get it to go the BSOD!  Success!  I tried the usual tricks like photobooth 2nd screen of effects and other intense graphical load stuff, and I can't get it to crash.  I hope that it will stay this way!  Good luck to all of you who still have problems... fight them for a new logic board!  Hopefully you'll get a good one.

Congratulations @spikyjake. It's a relief to hear that somebody has had some success. I guess replacing an out of warranty logic board is as close as we've come to an ackowledgement from Apple that they are aware of the problem.

I think everyone else with this problem should push for a free replacement logic board, at least. And with this precedent, I think anyone who has paid for a replacement logic board as a result of the same issue has a good argument for getting a refund.

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to report your success.

    Congrats,

Hope it continues to work as well.

Really wish I could get this solved too. Spoken with AppleCare on the phone for a few weeks ago, and they were going to call me back once they have a solution to the problem, but I've still yet to hear back from them. Getting rather annoyed at this, going to have to order a replacement computer from somewhere else this week so I can have a reliable computer. Hopefully the new one "just works".

Well, I just got home from the apple store after picking up my MacBook Pro after they supposedly replace the logic board for me.  Not even 5 minutes after turning it on and boom, BSOD.   So I guess now I'm one of those unlucky few who's logic board replacement didnt fix the BSOD problem.  I'm not sure what to do now.  I guess I'll try and call up AppleCare again instead of just going back to the store because this is just really ridiculous and I'm getting tired of driving back and forth.  Let me know if you guys have any suggestions of how I should proceed from here.
