    Hi

Just an update for iMac Late 2009 (i7, 16 GB Ram, AMD), 10.7.1 seemd to have fixed the problem.

With 10.7.0 could trigger the problem after playing of 5 min with Starcraft II (just an video intensive application in some way).

Yesterday I played a good 30 min without any problem. I even tried to sleep/resume the machine, no black screen of death.

We will see how it goes.

Please iMac owners, post your updates.

10.7.1 didnt fix anything. Probably made it worse.  Crashing more frequently with the update.  Come on Apple acknowledge the problem please.   I have so far convinced two people not to invest into an Apple Computer and I will keep going until keep going until Apple  admits they screwed up.     This is my last Apple Computer I will buy.

    I also got this problem.

2 weeks ago, apple replaced my logicboard and I still had the crashes.

Then they told me to wait untill the 10.7.1 update, that update should fixed the problem..

    Well, it's not.

    Still got the crashes....

How is this possible... never expected this from apple..

    Hello Community,

after i called last week the apple support and send them Logs from a Captureprogramm they give me a feedback by phone today.

They have no solution for the problem of my Mac (BSOD by nvidia gpu) and they hope that the fix will come with 10.7.2

The only advice they can give me is: roleback to snow leopard.

File this one under strange but true...I've been having intermittent sleep issues since upgrading to Lion from SL.... Slow coming out of sleep, or not coming out of sleep until a hard reboot. Yesterday I installed the 10.7.1 update and and the computer went nuts...one kernal panic after another, and total loss of Apple magic mouse,  I then did a smc and ram reset, and it worked for about 2 minutes and crashed again while writting on this website. Called service again, and the tech suggested that I do a re-install of Lion...I was unwilling to do a clean install bec it's such a pain. After the re-install through the start/ Command R console, I then installed the Java update and itunes one more time. I told the rep that I didn't think this would work, and I certainly didn't believe it would work. Guess what??? It actually worked in my case!!!! No crashes, no loss of magic mouse, and it goes in and out of sleep just fine. I notice that the wake up from sleep is inatantaneous now, whereas before, there would be a 5 sec delay for the screen to come on (If and when it worked at all). I don't believe this is the end of it, of course, but I was going to go to the Apple store today and will now wait a bit. I don't think I can reproduce any problem right now. One other thing...loloking in the console app at the logs for errors, I always used to see a ton of them since upgrading to Lion....all of a sudden there are no errors....will update status if all of this lasts...if you've tried eveyrthing but installing Lion again, it may just be worth a try.

I seem to be the only person who has a brand new Mac Pro (not MacBook Pro) that came preinstalled with Lion who has had this crashing problem. Fresh out of the box (literally), my new Mac Pro kept crashing. I upgraded as suggested with no luck.

I noticed it was crashing when I moved the magic mouse -- usually when the screensaver was on. Turning off the screensaver didn't help, so I switched out the mouse to a regular old wired mouse yesterday around 4 p.m.

    NO CRASHES SINCE THEN.

I have now successfully installed all my software & files, and worked in Photoshop & other programs with NO problems!

I still have to address this issue with Apple to make sure it's just that the magic mouse is bad. Who knows? It might be the logic board and it only shows up with the magic mouse... or maybe it will show up in something else later. WIth all the complaints, I don't trust my Mac, and that's just SAD. My wireless keyboard works fine, so it's not a BlueTooth issue.

This seems to be a different problem than all the folks who have upgraded from Snow Leopard are having, but I'm sure not going to upgrade my laptop until it's solved!

I hope this helps someone out there. If I discover WHY this happened in my particular situation, I will post the answer.

This is NOT what we expect from Apple.

I also experienced the mouse issue and was even crashing over it...also had the usb mouse up and running. I'm not an expert, by any means, but any OS can get corrupted or miss a beat. I would call service and ask them to walk you through a re-install of Lion. All your files are left intact, and the whole process took a couple of hours...I just let it do it's thing yesterday while I was doing something else.

I deleted the files (from the library) and the only way I can keep my MBP running is to switch over to "Integrated"... which rules out using my 30" cinema display .

I'm about as close to a fanboi as you can get... and this is REALLY frosting me. From the amount of complaints I'm seeing in other forums, this is a common issue. Apple needs to adress this and quick fragging around with us!!

    Having same problem.

Started the first day I "Upgraded" to Lion, and it randomly crashes up to 10 times a day.

The 10.7.1 did not fix anything at all.

I even tryied to get back to Snow Leopard, I couldn't.

I have an important presentation to make in 2 weeks, I think so that I will use PowerPoint and Windows to be sure.

I am very disapointed, this bug should have been on top priority for the update...

Can I ask how people manage to get their machines to crash 100% of the time by doing a certain operation like loading an app etc. So far all I can do is merging two events in iphoto 11 and that works like a charm to show apple stores. I am going to collect my mbp tomorrow after a logic board replacement but I would like to test out other people's methods for crashing at the store.

    Thanks

For me, it's going to 2nd page of effects in Photo Booth.

I've also read that for others using Quick Look to flip through a bunch of documents, text files, etc. will also cause it immediately.

It happens a lot when I use the fullscreen mode.

Sometime when I move the mouse in the app store...

I thought my issue was fixed in 10.7.1 after being able to use my MacBook Pro for almost a whole day at work. That was until I took a short visit to the App Store. There it was, the black screen of death showed itself again. And again some time after, using the Quick Look.

This is the most annoying issue I've ever had with any computer or technical device ever. Not being able to trust that the Mac will be stable almost at any time, and probably never being able to trust it again. Sure, it's a new OS, but when noticing a problem like this, why release it?

After having almost a month of fixing this problem after the official release, and also having way longer from the beta-reports, the problem is not fixed, and is seemingly not being prioritized. I'll also make sure to prioritize differently the next time I'm going to buy a computer or a phone.

Second page of effects on PhotoBooth causes a crash every time..

    Also

-scrolling through email messages from the same sender.

-Scrolling through several docs on quickview

-running the iOS simulator in xCode

-after 5 minutes of use of the Reeder App

    Its frustrating.

Apple is no longer the company they use to be.

I won't be buying from them anymore.
