Aug 21, 2011 2:19 PM in response to whetty101by jedifish,Hi all,
I have a MacBook Pro Mid 2010 with the GT 330M with the BSOD issue. It would crash everytime if i went into photobooth and click on the effects and go onto the 2nd page. The only way to workaround the issue was to run it in intergrated only mode. I done a clean install of Lion and still get the problem.
Today I went to the Apple store and had my Logic board replaced (it only took them one hour!) I have now been running for many hours with no issue.

Aug 21, 2011 5:46 PM in response to whetty101by Linda.h,After the second time going to a Genuis Bar appointment they had me install Lion again. This is the 3rd time I'd had to install Lion. But when I got my laptop back, it said "kernel panics hardware issue" on the bag. They knew it was a hardware issue but insisted on reinstalling Lion again, at this install they deleted all my previous data on my hard drive and did a clean install, still having kernel panics regularly.

Aug 21, 2011 6:06 PM in response to Linda.hby Ian Kelleigh,It's stories like this that keep me from even wasting my time with a Genius Bar. Maybe it's better in San Francisco, but I'm skeptical.

Aug 21, 2011 6:14 PM in response to DanY Ornelasby kowalenzo,I also downgraded from Lion to SL and I was able to reproduce the same kernel panic on my machine as on this vid (http://youtu.be/oZWsf-DiGTY) Does anyone else have this issue as well? I did cristal clean install of SL... At this point I cannot even use SL... no words...

Aug 21, 2011 9:11 PM in response to Linda.hby eah7271,Just so everyone in here knows I was going through the same problems and I CAN NOT be without a computer as it is my livelyhood. After a bit of arguing with apple care then in store I basically told them I refused to be a guinea pig and demanded a new computer if they could not fix it after 1 try. After one attempt at fixing the issue the store called and told me it was in everyones best interest to replace the computer. I am now on my brand new early 2011 15' i7 2.0ghz and it works perfect.

Aug 21, 2011 9:48 PM in response to whetty101by lcs123456,I just installed the lion last week thinking all the bugs were fixed. Now, I am so regretting the upgrade! I as well am experiencing the black screen & shut down panics. Which I never ever experienced before the intalll.
At 10.7 I was experincing the panic when i was trying to back-up my iphoto. I downloaded the update 10.7.1 It doesnt happen as often as 10.7 but now its so random when it happens!
A common denominator seems to be the computer: mine is a macbook pro 15" 17 2.66ghz 4gb (the first one that came out) like most of you in this thread. My husband has the new macbook air & he doesnt experience any problem. My son has an old macbook & he doesnt have the problem running lion too.
I hope someone in apple actually reads this forum to help us out! I have also brought it to the attention of a local apple and they say they will get back to me.
If it requires a new logic board, my computer is out of warranty and I dont have apple care. If this is really just happening to mbp's (2010) then there should then be a recall.

Aug 21, 2011 10:43 PM in response to lcs123456by wired00,ics, People have said a few times in this forum that they've had apple replace Motherboards even when they did not have Applecare support. Just give support and call or take book it in

Aug 22, 2011 12:25 AM in response to whetty101by Lars Dalby,Add another 2010 15" MBP to the list!
Hoped the recent update would have sorted this out, but no. My MBP still randomly goes black and unresponsive.
MBP 15" mid 2010, 2.66 Ghz intel core i7, 8 gb ram and running 10.7.1
I can't recall having a single crash before upgrading to Lion...

Never had a crash before installing Lion. Please fix this, Apple.
iMac 27" i7, 2.93, 16GB, 2TB. (Mid 2010).

Aug 22, 2011 7:06 AM in response to whetty101by grepme,Smells of an nVidia driver problem to me. I think I'll wait until the driver is updated before upgrading my MBP. My iMac with the ATI runs fine, except for some new strangeness with the audio outputs.

Aug 22, 2011 7:18 AM in response to grepmeby fredrik34,I have this problem with iMac / ATI, so no, it's not an nVidia driver problem.
