"Numerous tipsters have advised us that OS X Lion 10.7.2 seed 2 has been made available to developers.[...]
Apple has asked developers to focus on the functionality of [...] Graphics Drivers"

Aug 23, 2011 12:16 PM in response to whetty101by Linda.h,Another update...
After going to the Apple store a third time, they told me my kernel panics were related to a driver issue.
They were going to reinstall Lion and then they told me just to put back the user folder. I got my laptop back and started restoring my data. This is what I found on my MBP 2009:
This time I brought it to Best Buy (I have warrenty there, I regret not buying Apple Care) they were clueless and wanted to reinstall the software.
I told them that if it was a driver issue, it wouldn't crash with a completly clean hard drive. I'll update this post when I get my MBP back.

Aug 23, 2011 12:47 PM in response to whetty101by Leime,Yeah, I can see how that really contributes to the discussion here. Hope you've cleared your heart (and mouth) by now so we can all revert back to talking in a normal manner. And by the way I think you've got another issue with your mac ... something to do with the caps lock

edit: seems like the post with all the screaming and yelling has been deleted, clearly my response was mentioned for that poster ...

Aug 23, 2011 12:50 PM in response to Leimeby stephensjunk,I had thought the problem was fixed by deleting windowserver entries and resetting the NVRAM, PRAM and SMC, nut still getting some black screens. Mostly when iPhoto is open, but not only that. It's about 50% improved, but a crash is still highly unacceptable.

Aug 23, 2011 2:00 PM in response to stephensjunkby tOMPSON,So I did it, today I brought my Mid 2010 MacBook Pro 15" i7 to my reseller to get a hardware check/replacement.
After wating some weeks thinking it was just a software problem that would be fixed with a simple update I am more and more considering it a hardware issue.
Although I never had any problems within 15 months using Snow Leopard and the BSOD started the day I upgraded to Lion.
I though maybe some software I have on my device causes the issue but after doing a clean installation on an external drive I was sure it even happens there. I even used the system of a colleague on an extern drive that worked well for him - when going to the second effects page in PhotoBooth - bamm - BSOD
After two phone calls with the Apple Express Lane they sent me to a local service partner to get my system checked - now I am waiting for the results.
Will keep you updated.

Aug 23, 2011 5:35 PM in response to whetty101by wast3gat3,In case apple is listening the issue is with the nvidia card and heat.
As stupid as it sounds I'm 99.9% sure built in mechanisms is shutting things down because of heat issues. Don't ask me why in Lion and not in Snow Leopard but I run iStats pro and normal usage forcing the intel card I’m hovering at 50-55°c. Switch to dynamic and the nvidia card kicks in and I’m at +80°c fire up a game or VMware Fusion and it’s +93°c.
My overclocked i7 desktop never sees that kind of temperature and shuts down at+80°c. Surely it can’t be a good thing for a laptop at those temps…. -

Aug 23, 2011 7:34 PM in response to whetty101by DonYuppie, this is painful that i have to boot a lot of times in my class. on lion it used to only happen on start-up or on design softwares. now it occurs on heavy powerpoint use.
i simply refuse to replace a logic board because of Mac Lion's imcompetence.
i have noticed the problem occurs mostly on start-up and within 20 min of start-up.

Aug 23, 2011 8:03 PM in response to DonYuppieby wired00,Hi Don, if you refuse to replace the logic board the issue may never be fixed. As people have said this is a hardware issue which has become more obvious in Lion. Many people also had the issue with snow leopard just less often. I have taken mine to be repaired, it will have a new motherboard installed tomorrow morning. I suggest you do the same to avoid all the headaches.

Aug 23, 2011 8:12 PM in response to wired00by vlan2k8,The problem is, people are also replacing hardware with no appreciable improvement. I hope you're not one of these, Wired00, and the fix holds.
Personally, I'm extremely disapointed in how Apple is NOT handling this situation. A simple "Hold on guys, we're workin' on it!!" would do wonders to salve a lot of ****** of people and make waiting for 10.7.2 a little easier.
