Jul 21, 2011 12:48 AM in response to steevilby aixbo,I've also have this problem. Also 2011 27" Imac core i5 Radeon 6970M. GUI freeze when when playing video's in any browser. Even had this caused by some flash adds it seems. ssh access still works b.t.w. however reboot command doesn't work. It seems to start as my network connection goes down but the screen doesn't change. Only way to reboot is to hold the powerbutton for a couple of seconds.

Jul 21, 2011 1:05 AM in response to steevilby Bill Morgan2,Same problem here with a brand new 27" i5 iMac with 8MB of memory. It seems to happen with any YouTube video whether on the YouTube site or embedded somewhere else. The computer locks up and has to be turned off and on. This is a big hit with my Windows loving wife, but I'm a musician and rely quite heavily on YouTube, so this bug renders my shiny new iMac almost useless. I hope this is something that Apple is working on.

Jul 21, 2011 2:49 AM in response to steevilby The hatter,Flash Player
- Flash Player may cause higher CPU activity when playing a YouTube video.
- Possibly related to disabled hardware acceleration.

Jul 21, 2011 2:49 AM in response to Bill Morgan2by putnik,They give a lot of codec and inter-operability for video formats. But if you did not have the problem before, they may not help now? I have always had them installed, with no adverse effects.

Jul 21, 2011 3:02 AM in response to steevilby Bill Morgan2,★HelpfulI don't know if this is the answer, but I ran the Java Preferences utility, found that both 64-bit and 32-bit Java SE 6 are both installed, so I clicked the item at the top of the Java Preferences pane called "Enable applet plug-in and Web Start applications", and I now seem to be able to play YouTube videos with no problem. It may not last, but it's working right now.

Jul 21, 2011 7:45 AM in response to steevilby radiv78,I have the same problem too. 2011 iMac 27" i7, 16GB, HD6970M 2GB.
Flash player 10.3.181.34
If all have the new 27" iMac, it could be an issue with the iMac and Flash player.??

Jul 21, 2011 11:44 AM in response to steevilby Bill Morgan2,Changing the Java Preferences wasn't the answer. I put the computer to sleep last night, and tried to play a video when I woke it up this morning, and it immediately locked up. FWIW, it seems that a lot of people with the 27" iMac are having this problem. I sure hope we get a solution soon.

Jul 21, 2011 4:24 PM in response to steevilby MattMac7,I have the same exact problem here (New iMac 27" w 8gb). And Bill Morgan 2 is right about the computer locking up after being in sleep mode and then trying to play any video (youtube, quicktime, etc.). I hope the techs are listening because this is killing my appreciation of the new OS.
