Lion crashing regularly at login screen

I did a clean install of Lion today on my Mid-2010 15" Macbook Pro I'm having the trouble of Lion crashing, either infinite spinning ball or complete lock-up, at the login screen. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7)

I've just finished installing Lion on my Mac Pro (1st gen) and the 3 times I've tried to login, I get the Gray Screen of Death.

In my MacBook Pro I installed it yesterday and it seems to work without issues.

I'm in the recovery mode, just finished repairing permisions... let's see if that makes any difference.

In my case, it appears the problem is an m-audio FW410. I disconnected it and now I can work without problems. I was just about to do a clean install, on another hdd, when I had the idea to disconnect it and now it works fine.

In any case, some of you have also an m-audio connected to the Mac? The drivers from m-audio have always been a piece of sh·t.

Oh man guys, my 2008 mac pro now crashes at login and powers off. I type in my password and then I get a pin wheel then everything dissapears and a unnamed status bar appears and gets to about 5 or 10 percent and then the machine clicks off.

My disk is encrypted with the new filevault II and I think it has something to do with that although I don't know...

I have a time machine backup and also am able to unlock and access my main disk from a separate installation of lion on a small partition at the end of the main disk.

Any ideas? I knew I shoulda waited lolz...

install dmg driver, when reboot and plug in on the reboot with power on, do not try to use hot swap which will corrupt thing. Take time and read the readme guys, I followed the instryctuins and mine if up & working pererfectly; along with others as well.

LGV note another 20 points here!

Exactly the same thing here.

Mid 2010, 15" i7 MBP and numerous crashes at login (spinning beachball and occasional kernel panics) after upgrading to Lion. The MBP locks up and I have to reboot it each time it happens.

Another annoying trait of Lion appears to be the occasional failure to launch Apps. You get a bouncing app icon in the dock and nothing else. So far Address Book, iCal and Preview are the worst offenders. Then TC backups seem to start from scratch each day - it will want to back up 24GB even if the only new changes are about 1GB in size.

ok so there is a fix, but doesnt anyone else finding is a very poor effort on Apple's side that they have released a system with this problem and that the only know fix is to disable one of the great features that helps to conserve your battery.

I for one will be reinstalling Snow Leopard when I get home from work and writing Lion off as a Vista experience - not to be touched again until they either fix the faults or realise that not all users want an iPhone experience (if i wanted that I would buy one) and stop dumbing down the OS.

Got this from Apple about a bug report I filed for this problem. You should reply to this bug if you are having this issue also with the logs they ask for.
