How to re-download Lion from AppStore

Delete the corrupted file and download again through the App Store.

I would also like to know how to re-download? My install says it was corrupt or tampered with.

Do a Spotlight search for "Install Mac OS X Lion".

If anything appears in that search, then the App Store will think that you still have it.

I installed Lion and now I want to burn a bootdisc but the installation file is deleted and the app-store says it is already installed. Is there a way to re-download the file from the app-store with Lion installed?

I got it, option-key click on the purchased button and you can re-download the file!

I try that and it states I need to move a version to trash. i also do spotlight and do not find install blah blah - any suggestions?

The installer should be sitting in your applications folder. Delete it and then download again. It worked for me.

OK - I still think there is a bug in how the Re-Download is supposed to work. I have had a number of people say that you clik the Purchases tab with the option key depressed and it is supposed to take you to lion and have changed the Installed to Install - that never worked for me. I tried many different combinations, but was able to finally get it to work by also clicking Option - Install, after clicking Option Lion. Oy Vey that was confusing.

I also intended to burn OSX "Lion" to DVD, however like many others found that the install package had vanished after installing "Lion".

I managed to re-download "Lion" after installing by opening the "App Store", then holding down "Option" key and clicking on purchased items (Keep holding down "Option" key). From purchached apps, "Lion" had now changed from "Installed" to "Install". While still holding down the "Option" key, I clicked "Install" and Lion is now downloading as we speak.

Again, thanks for the clarification. I had seen that you could download "Lion" again from the App store on other forums, however the process wasn't explianed very well and I couldn't quite get it to work.

I hope this helps others who are stuck.

I got someone elses name in my apple id box and deleted the install app after reading that you could redownload using the option key. I cannot get that to work no matter what I click.

Any other suggestions on how to redownload. Even though I didn't install it says installed.

I have finally figured it out after being a jerk for hours running. 😝 You have to keep holding the option key for around 10 seconds until the purchases section refreshes. what i was doing before was just pressing option, clicking on purchases and letting go off it.

I'd tried all the other tricks I found on various articles, blogs and message boards--this is the one that finally worked! Thank you!!

If you've already purchased it just click BUY and then login with the same apple ID. It will then say you have already purchased and to download for free press OK. Simple but aweful.
