Q: AGAdminService / Citrix is running 100% cpu, but I never installed it!

Thanks you!  Solved my problem instantly after running the command.  I'm running Citrix on Lion quietly now.  

I've tried using this command on terminal with NO success:

sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.citrix.agadminservice.plist

After that I've opened /Library/LaunchDaemons and found out that I have other things running on startup, one of them was the Parallels...

So, I did the same thing, but with Parallels:

sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.parallels.desktop.launchdaemon.plist

My computer seems to work much better now (I got few extra hours and it's cooler).

Hi all, I tried the terminal but I can't key in my passwords and I can't find the Citrix that you all mentioned. What should I do? Now my MBP only can last me 1 hour and the fan keep running. Please explain more simple terms cause I am a new user of mac. Thanks!!

Hi again guys... I think my only solution has been to recover these plist files in the LaunchDaemons folder so I could unload them.

Since many of you are fooling around with them, could someone do me a HUGE favour and upload the LaunchDaemons folder contents onto a file sharing service so I could download them?

xoxo_apple, it's OK that you can't see the password. You just need to type it and press Enter. That's for security reason. Try it. And, as I said in my response - I don't have it either, but I found out that in my case - the Parallels app made it happen. Still I'm not %100 satisfied with it, but it's better now.

Thanks a lot for the upload, however, since there is no "com.citrix.agadminservice.plist" file, it actually doesn't help me much...

I did unload the parallels thing (thanks again Nir_Alshek for uploading) but haven't really noticed a change in my battery life, anyone else able to upload their citrix file?

As much as I know about it - if you don't have the file - then you don't have anything to unload anyway.. so I don't think that you'll get anything from having the file.

Anyway, I hope you'll find an answer for your specific issue.

Well the reason I don't have the file is because I deleted it.. but I don't think deleting it actually keeps it from running, cause I didn't notice even the slightest change in battery life.

My thinking is that if I can get the file and put it back, I can then unload it and keep it from running.

I couldn't find that Citrix file as well or even after countless SMC, the problem is still there. So I called up Apple support. They told me to bring it to the service center after teling them of my Charge Information, apparently my Full Charge Capacity and the cycle counts don't tally. Well, I'm not such a tech guru, maybe someone out there know what's going on?

Yes, Thank you for the command to unload the AGAdminService. My battery is back to normal 6 to 8 hours. This is awesome. Now I got my Mac's battery back. I travel so I needed this.

Please help. First I apologize for asking these questions, as I am a technical novice and new to apple. I installed Lion and immediate had a cut in the batterly life and my computer runs hot. I do hav citrix plug in installed and noticed under activitiy the "AGAdminService MAC" is running at 100%. I went into the applications folder and dragged both the Citrix plugin icon and folder to the trash can. No change. I then went into the Finder file but things look different. I don't see the normal items I use to see, like my hard drive, movies, photo, etc...Is this normal with Lion? All I see is : All files, Air drop, desktop, my name, applications, documents and IDisk.

I was looking to try go to the directory/library/launchdaemons to delete but cannot find. Did something change? Am I looking in the wrong place?

So should I launch terminal and use the process described in the links? Will this disable my ability to use citrix to connect to my work? If this is what I should do, can someone give me the exact text to paste in? Do I start with

"sudo lauchctl unload -w /libray/launchdaemons/com.citrix.adadminservice.plist"? Do I include the "sudo" part ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

Worked for me, MBA 2009. What if i will ever need to revert the process? And could give problems with future updates? tya

maybe it wasn't really citrix for me, but a network volume (so could be really an airport problem as stated elsewhere). stopping citrix with the network volume mounted = still 6200 rpm fans, ejected net volume and played a couple of flash videos on youtube = fans at 2500 rpm. so how do i revert the terminal command?

I use Citrix regularly to access the VPN at the hospital that work at.  If I remove this plist file will I lose Citrix capability?
