Feb 5, 2012 8:14 AM in response to paulm616by aijo,Changing the "Beacon interval level" to 50 (default 100ms) did it for me too. I've only tested this for about an hour, but so far so good!

Feb 5, 2012 9:35 AM in response to lrogersinlvby blakkheim, went for the combo update 10.7.3 and the wifi was greyed out again saying no hardware installed...i decided to stay on 10.7.3 since i cant bother backing up from clones again, so i just plugged in a "tenda" usb wifi dongle and im back online and up to speeds. just feels embarassing i need this gadget sitting in one of my usb slots just to make a wifi connection on a macbook (that used to have superior range to any pc laptop up until snow leopard).

Feb 5, 2012 10:22 AM in response to lrogersinlvby Carlo TD,have you got this thing fixed already? just looked at your initial posting date. If not, take out a usb thumb drive (~4Gb) and install the recovery disk assistance.app (located in the utility folder). Then leave that usb device plugged into the computer, restart the computer using command key + R key (both at the same time). Repair permisons, and reinstall from the Apple Server, not TimeMachine.

Feb 6, 2012 5:52 AM in response to Harshdeep Singhby Carlo TD,In the ichat preferences, under the messages tab, place a check mark in the box that says "in new chat window, show (the last 25, 50 or 100 ) messages. I sure hope you get this working... everything working.

Feb 6, 2012 6:06 AM in response to iyalvakby Carlo TD,Here is something I wrote in another thread... I could honestly say I have no problems connecing to wifi when waking the computer. If you go to System Prefences and Network, choose your network; put a check mark in the box that says "Show Wifi status in menu bar," next click the advanced buton, Under Preferred Networks, minus out of all the networks, and put a check mark where it says "remember networks this computer has joined."
It is that simple. If you have trouble, then you just select the wifi symbol that looks like a tornado (that you now have) located next to the time on the menu bar.
I really wish you shared my joy with Lion, because, while I have had minor (fixable) issues that I have accomplished, Lion is really great. And I wish you shared my sentiment or at least tried to utilize 10.7.3 or use recovery assistant to get you back to optimum. The Recovery Disk Assistant is reached by starting the computer from starting the computer and holding down the Command + R keys at the same time, and reinstalling Lion from the server, (not TimeMachine), it could also be found in your utility folder.

Feb 6, 2012 10:25 AM in response to clairemaisonby iRik1988,Let me say this since upgrading to OSX Lion on lauch day, i have issues with the network conection on my iMac. Every time a update came i was happy and hopefull Apple would fix it. But they haven't solved the issue. I can confirm that the problem get's even worse in 10.7.3 but there is only one way to restore a stable wi-fi conection. The problem is actualy a driver in Lion that drops once in a while, aside from wi-fi drops the Magic Mouse also drops once in while. So how can you fix this?
- Insert the Snow Leopard DVD in your iMac/Macbook/Macbook Air/Macbook Pro. then hold down the ''C'' key.
-Then you come in a menu where you can instal Snow Leopard but befoure you do make a Time Machine back-up.
- Then go to your hard drive in the Snow Leopard menu and choose erase, then instal Snow Leopard and apply all updates.
-When you go to time machine select the program you want and instal them.
Wi-fi problems are gone your Mac works agian until Apple realy fixxes Lion!
Hope i helped you.

Feb 7, 2012 10:18 AM in response to iRik1988by iRik1988,Ok Snow Leopard is indeed outdated and does't include iCloud. And updates are only for security, i went back to OS X Lion Wi-fi issue seems to be less, still disconects at wake from sleep but it will be fixed i hope.
Lion is a beter OS then Snow Leopard becouse of the many new feutures i missed in Snow Leopard.
I will keep Lio and do not downgrade ever agian to snow leopard.
Love Lion hope Apple inc. solves it.

Feb 7, 2012 11:18 AM in response to lrogersinlvby renzofromroma,With my configuration the things were going better, only some disconnection after wakin-up and/or after switching off MBP, very strange because, as I said many pages ago, the router that blocks is the one that is not connected with MBP. Anyway, since I almost forgot to have an old airport express (only 801/b/g) I decided to try also this one. So I replaced the tp-link with airport and now I have the wi-max router connected to the airport through an ethernet cable and aiport is supplying connectivity to MBP wirelessly. Yesterday I tried to configure airport with the new utility version 5.6, and the new lion 10.7.3, well lion didn't saw airport exept once but after saving the configuration it disappeared completely. Back connecting with my small usb-modem that luckily always work and, surprise, in a forum I read that lion 10.7.3 has several bugs particularly a CUI bug that crashes many applications. Apple, after an unfortunate fix, decided to remove the update from the apple menu and left on line only the combo update which reaches 1.3 GB. I downloaded it last night and installed it in safe mode (just as suggested few pages earlier). This new version saw my airport express immediately and after saving the configuration it's still visible to lion (alleluia). Now it's connected to internet since three hours while simulaneously I'm listening some music with i-tunes using my stereo loudspeakers connected to airport. So far no problem. Next days I'll tell you if it will be working. ciao.

Feb 7, 2012 1:14 PM in response to iRik1988by clairemaison,RE: LION and WiFi issues: Yesterday I contacted apple tech support. They ran me thru some steps (resetting system configuration, keychain, etc.) and now WiFi works just fine -- However, this situation made me re-think my set up and i've decided to connect via ethernet as my primary source. Don't know why I didn't do this from the start, since my iMac isn't exactly portable... but live and learn.
But for anyone with problems arising after a recent upgrade to LION, even if you aren't still covered under applecare warranty, they will assist you, since this is apparently a very wide and prevalent issue after just buying one of their product upgrades. At some point they will fix it; in the meantime, call them.

Feb 7, 2012 7:34 PM in response to lrogersinlvby garywchan,For those of you with wifi issue (intermittent drops) on Lion, you may have a bad kernel extension file (kext). Kext are similar to drivers in the Windows world.
Potential fix:
1. Download and unzip this file to your Desktop http://www.sendspace.com/file/jy1b4k
2. Drag IO80211Family.kext and drop it to Kext Utility. This will launch Kext Utility and update your kext file.
3. Restart your Mac
Note:
DO NOT just double click Kext Utility. You must drag and drop the .kext file. This tells Kext Utility to use the .kext.
