Aug 6, 2011 10:47 AM in response to escape77by NicoNorway,This seemes to be the solution for me also.
After the Lion install, my WIFI was not working at all, and whenever i tried systpref it all just crashed. But as said, for me the keychain reset worked. Just deleted all my passwords and no problemO Been "online" for a day now.

Aug 6, 2011 12:19 PM in response to lrogersinlvby robertone,Hi all.
Using the NocoNorway suggstion, I work on keychain.
I removed ONLY the samba entry into keychain and... it seems to work
The reference on my keychain was
smb://alicegate
where alicegate is the name of my modem that was able to host a disk via USB.
Actually, on Lion samba was removed: could be this the solution?
Hope this work.

Aug 6, 2011 1:25 PM in response to lrogersinlvby drjthomas,OK... there's a pattern emerging!
Following previous posts, I've swapped my ancient Orange Livebox router for a new Belkin Play N600 one (having checked that it uses a broadcom chipset......
.... drum-roll please....
..... wireless now connected perfectly! Super-fast and maintained now for several hours.
It really does look like this is a problem with compatability with certain router chipsets.

Aug 6, 2011 2:20 PM in response to lrogersinlvby _R_,So going along with the wireless issues on my end...
2010 13" MBP - Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.100.98.75.6)
2011 27" iMac - Atheros 9380: 4.0.55.4-P2P
Netgear WNDR3700 (Router - dualband broadcasting both G and N networks) - Atheros 9002 series chipset
So here are my issues...(and yes, I've tried pretty much every fix in this thread (8.8.8.8, new network place, reset passwords, WPA2, no security, etc etc)
2010 MBP - connects on both G and N no problem, actually pretty quickly with no wifi drops
2011 iMac - connects to G only, N will connect but will not have any network activity, everything times out
both running Lion
I have a network storage and it's painfully slow to transfer files over G on my iMac... if I was just surfing the web G would suffice no problem... but I need the N speeds for file transfers...

Have you tried to remove the samba entry into keychain?

Aug 6, 2011 3:19 PM in response to robertoneby _R_,I can't seem to find any samba reference in my keychain...

Aug 6, 2011 3:29 PM in response to _R_by robertone,Opening keychain, I found it into the list of "all element" category.
The chain element has the same name of my modem ("alicegate" in my case).
Opening the related card (double click on it), in the 4th filed (my system is in italian, I guess in english the label coud be "localted in") the value was "smb://alicegate".
In general, my feeling is that the key to remove is the one having this value starting with smb://
I hope this can help you: on my iMac, it works, at least up to now ;-)

Aug 6, 2011 4:11 PM in response to robertoneby _R_,I'm honestly not finding my Router/Modem name in the keychain...
The SSID and network password are the only thing related to my network/modem...

Aug 6, 2011 11:33 PM in response to _R_by robertone,Hi _R_
Looking to my configuration, my feeling is that the keychain element to look for has the same name of a shared device included in the list of "shared Device" shown on the left bar of your finder.
Get the name of all shared device you have, check them into keychain and, if one (or more than one) of them has the located label set to smb, try to remove it.

Aug 7, 2011 2:33 AM in response to robertoneby itaylorweb,Im not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread but on another thread someone suggested turning off ipv6 in network prefs for wifi and ethernet. I and a few other have done this and it seems to fix the wifi problems.
Thought it was worth mentioning.

Aug 7, 2011 8:49 AM in response to itaylorwebby ihazem,THANK YOU !!!! itaylorweb, that solved it for me. So I bought a brand new iMac 21.5" a few days ago and an Airport Extreme. Everything worked great on my old wireless (Netgear) router.
Then fired up the Airport Extreme and all my other Mac devices connected fine wirelessly and wired.
My new iMac (running LION btw) did couldn't connect wirelessly, but I could connect via wire. I thought initially it was b/c I was running Lion Server on it and that may have caused issues. But no.
So went into Network Preferences -> Wi-Fi -> Advanced -> TCP/IP and set "Configure IPv6" to "Link-local only" and it worked!!!!! Thanks "itaylorweb"!!!!!!

Aug 7, 2011 9:05 AM in response to lrogersinlvby mikefrommoorhead,I was having problems with my wifi not working when restarting or reconnecting after recovering from sleep. I was able to connect to my network but could not browse it or connect to the internet. when I ran the network troublshooter, no problems where found and "bang" everything would work fine again. After trying Apples first and most important diagnosis step "remove all connected devices". I found that if I have a CD in the drive or a remote storage device connected (Iphone, ipad, usb hard disk) connected via usb during wake or restart, I could not access the network or internet again until running the troubleshooter. With no disc in drive or devices connected I have had no issues since. I do not think this is the correct way things should operate but until something better comes from Apple, this is my fix.

Aug 7, 2011 10:57 AM in response to mikefrommoorheadby bob Keenan,I posted this on a separate question but we tried this.... And it totally works. I have two MBP's. The one without a CD did not have a problem. I put a CD into that computer......Now I have the problem there as well. Pull the CD out and do a sleep wake and the problem is gone.!!
