Choppy Scrolling in Lion
I'm experiencing choppy scrolling in Lion on my early 2008 iMac. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any remedies?
I also own an 11-inch Macbook Air and the scrolling seems better on that machine.

If you dont use a trackpad or magic mouse that might be the problem...
I'm using the Magic Mouse. Is a trackpad just better? I can't imagine it's that.
Weird, maybe the connection between the mouse and the computer isn't as good as it should be ? Because there is no reason for the scrolling to be choppy..
I am experiencing same thing on my MacBook. Lion so far is a total waste for me. Nothing about it that I had looked forward to works as displayed at the announcement. No wonder they only charged $30 for it because its not even worth that.
You don't love Mission Control and fullscreen apps ? I just love it
Yeah very choppy scrolling on my 2010 iMac.
I have mission control but have to go to the app on dock each time to use it and even then it doesn't work as shown. Full screen apps? What's that? No I sure don't
And when I turn computer off all of the MC windows are gone and must be reset . Waste of time. I can locate and start what I want in FInder much faster
I am experiancing the same choppy scrolling. It is probably most noticable in mail, preview, and safari.
The reason for this is because Apple basically rewrote the code for the trackpad to add so many new features. When you do that there are bound to be a few mistakes and bugs.
This most likely will be fixed in the first software update. I will say that I do miss the incredibly smooth scrolling from snow leopard and I hope an update comes soon.
Is there a standard way to give a Apple feedback about this sort of thing? I just want to give them a heads up just in case.
I remember a number of years ago there was a bug submission page, but that was in the Panther and Tiger OS days.
I know engineers read these blogs and interact with geniuses at the various stores to pinpoint common issues and work on patches for them. Now that Apple is using Delta updates to fix problems we will most likely see faster and more updates on smaller issues.
with all the issues I'll bet they are going to be very busy people. Seems that beta either wasn't long enough or was a total failure
anyone know how to go back to Snow Leopard? I want it back along with my $30
I tried going back to SL just so I could DL Lion over again and make a bootable disc (forgot to before I installed the first time). Surprisingly I wasn't able to boot from my SL disc that came with my early 2011 MBP. I figured out how to DL Lion again though so it's not an issue to me. ***** that you don't like Lion. You're obviously very hard to please. Just be patient. Apple will issue updates to these minor things and hopefully you will be satisfied. Keep in mind also that $30 is nothing compared to what we used to pay for OS's.
I am also having some jerky scrolling in Safari and Mail. I closed Safari and re-opened. Now it seems better, but I think as I open more windows/tabs the more finicky it gets.
@ Fitz09 I'm really not that hard to please. All I ask is don't blow smoke up my ***. The product delivered does not work as displayed or hyped. Many features are not available for my Mac which should have been disclosed. I go back with Apple to the IIc and the original Mac. (1984) Given all the hype and the wait I would have liked better had they held off and finished it better. I don't care if it cost $.30 if its sloppy it never should have been released. I don't use Safari very much and rarely use the mail client although I may start using it more now but it still does a lousy job getting my web based emails in some cases
