If the application doesn't have an uninstaller, you only have to go to the Finder and drag it to the trash. You'll have a very small file in ~/Library/Preferences left over, but in most cases I don't even bother removing them, as they take up so little room.
Instead of dragging it to the Trash, I highlight/single click the program and then choose from the gear-looking icon in the window to remove or trash the program, and am given a dialog box that says "Do you want to remove this program as well as any files associated with it?" or some such language.
I always used to wonder too.
Instead of doing all of these steps going through stuff and all of that, you can just download AppZapper.
It removes the App completely..
Check it out for yourself!
AppZapper is $12.95 but the Finder method is free.
I removed a program that went bad and apparently something else (a hidden file) is still installed somewhere because when I re-install the program to fix a problem I was having with it, it still has the same problem of why I uninstalled it to reinstall it.
I install the program on my other MacBookPro and it works fine. So I know whatever causes the issue on my 15 inch is still there. And the program was working fine until I did something weird on it and now is malfunctioning.
I will try your method now Dave B. thanks for the info!!!
