Library Will Not Connect to Images on Remote Drive Since Lion

Same for me !

Aperture tells me all my referenced file are offline (on a network drive). I can manually reconnect them but as soon as I close Aperture and re-open it, they are shown offline again !!

This was workgin fine under snow leopard, problem showed up since I installed Lion last night!

I would really appreciate suggestion on this !

I just upgraded to Lion and now I have the same problem as you guys. I have a referenced library.. I keep my actual photos on my Time Capsule and now all my photos are offline! I restart everything including the Time Capsule...still my entire library is offline. I had no problems before the upgrade...I am a little freaked out any suggestions please

Same issue here too. I can reconnect to the referenced files while in Apertue, but if I close the application and re-open it, the referenced files are offline again.

My RAW files are on a Mac Server and the Volumes are mounted and I can browse, but Aperture thinks the files are offline. Reconnecting does only work until you quit Aperture.:-(

Same problem here. My QNAP-NAS-folder for photos is showing "offline" every time I start Aperture. Please help ...!

Same here... that's what I've done until now:

1) updated NAS firmware to the last version (lion compatible)

2) changed file sharing protocol from AFP to SMB

3) relocated file over and over again

4) check aperture library in different ways

no luck in no way...

I have similar problem with my managed library on an external drive. It keeps saying processing but eventually crashes. I can see on the a few of the events image previews that some are really messed up. I assume there is a corrupted image that wasn't there without lion. I was able to start a few times when I suspended preview updating (spacebar) but sometimes I can't. I am wondering if it is from a photoshop modified image.

I have repaired and reconstructed library, repaired system permissions and ran disk repair utility, reinstalled aperture, deleted plist, now what??

Same issue here with my SMB share (HP EX490 Server). Aperture says my masters are all offline even though the share is properly mounted. When I try to relocate the reference file for any photo, it says the mounted drive is offline...even though it isn't.

Tried all three database rebuild options. Still didn't fix the problem.

Reinstalled Aperture. It didn't fix the problem either.

30,000 photo versions in limbo... I couldn't sleep last night thinking about how it's all broken 😟

I had the same problem as you with an external drive a month ago. Go to utilities and run repair permissions, worth a try and it fixed mine last month.

The above has been Apple's advice for quite some time, especially as relates to A3 -- why should it be different for Lion?

@Ernie: Thanks for the link to the Apple support document, but the issue in this threas is about referenced files on network drives, not the Aperture Library location.

I was able to copy my referenced files from the network to an external firewire drive and will reference in Aperture to drive directly connected to my mac, until Apple provides a fix.

My understanding has always been that even referenced masters on a network drive could be problematic. This got more sensitive, from what I remember, with 3.1.3, and easily more so with Lion.

I never had a problem with referenced masters until Lion.

I've been using Aperture since day one.

Many professionals have their referenced masters on network drives.

I'm wondering how long it will take until Apple can fix it.

Same for me , never had any problem with my referenced files on a network drive before !

I have about 20'000 pictures on my network drive and problem showed up right after installing LION.

There must be some kind of bug with Aperture 3.1.3 and LION.

Hope Apple will fix it soon.....
