Can't login to Server management app

Exact same problem here. Worked after upgrade until I rebooted.

Same here, restored from Time Machine twice thinking it was something I'd done, but both times, I rebooted after the restore and everything worked fine. Shutdown to move the server to its permanent location (mac mini server so I have to move it to a location with a screen for the restore operation) and when it comes back up, can't log into the server!

And I've just discovered a rogue process around (I think) the wiki service (collabd) that keeps respawning! Now if I could only get into the server app to shut it down!

Exact same problem! Wiki said "error reading settings" so I repaird disk permissions in Disk Utility than later onwards when I tried to login to management app, no response -.- This was all after a fresh reinstall of Lion Server so I'm ignorant towards reinstalling it for another time.

Solution anyone??

I've realized that, I can see the Mac I installed the server app on to let me remote manage my server from my server's app, but I can't see my server from my management Mac's app!

Makes me wonder if the problem is network related (ports, hostnames etc).

Will investigate more tomorrow.

Just confirmed that nothing is listening on port 311 which Apple document (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1629) as

Trying to figure out why nothing is listening on that port, but does anyone else have any ideas? On my "test" server, there is a listener on the port (I can telnet to the port and get connected).

I don't know if it will solve other people's problems but in my case, I found that /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.servermgrd.plist contained the lines

<key>Label</key>

<string>com.apple.servermgrd</string>

<key>Disabled</key>

<true/>

<key>OnDemand</key>

<true/>

I deleted the lines

<key>Disabled</key>

<true/>

restarted the server and voila, I could log into the server app!

If only I was this lucky. Mine still refuses access to managing the Server.

open terminal> copy and paste this:

sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.servermgrd.plist

enter your password

Done!

Thanks for the fix. Mac OSx Lion Server = bad experience so far!

Works for me too, but now i see not only my user.

There are now Apple Event User or Remote Desktop.

Can I delete them?
