Re: vnc lion in response to enrico204Lion already includes a VNC Server: Screen Sharing.
System Preferences, Sharing.
Be sure to also click on Computer Settings, VNC viewers may control screen with password.

Re: vnc lion in response to AsatoranYes, it is included in Lion, but it does not connect anymore from other VNC clients. It is because of the
"multi-user screen sharing", it broke the VNC!!!

Then you may want to try different VNC clients because I can connect just fine with the original VNC client (v3.3.9, the one from IBM labs) from a Windows XP machine and a Windows 7 machine. Both to the user currently logged on to Lion ("normal" VNC control) and a background user (multi-user mode.)

Re: vnc lion in response to enrico204Out of curiosity, are you using a 3rd party VNC?if so, what's the name

Re: vnc lion in response to JaseODHave you tried turning off screen sharing in system preferences and test again VNC?if not then what you are experiencing may just be expected
http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1150828
a group of people are also experiencing the issue at the moment
Apple has its own built in VNC so maybe its in conflict with its own?just a thought

Re: vnc lion in response to enrico204Interesting, I tried that. I had been set to use Remote Management, which I unchecked and went back to vanilla Screen Sharing (with a VNC password), but was getting the same result.
Maybe I'll turn everything off and try again with SS & VNC.

Re: vnc lion in response to JaseODmy steps:
on MAC - screen sharing setup: set all users - computer setup: set ok only on vnc with password
(i've tested that with everybody admitted checked, latency increase and MAC desktop login is locked)
(note: login is in two step: login on vnc popup and on mac desktop with local user credentials)
on Ipad (real vnc viver 1.4.0.52373), to avoid latency, i've only set low quality but image is ok.
on win XP (real VNC Enterprise 4.5.21561) i've forced encryption off and all work fine
note: on the second step of insert password (on mac deskop with local credential) if you click to view the cursor .. latency start and all is locked.
instead you type local user password at fly and all is ok
Regards...

Re: vnc lion in response to JaseODI am using Chicken of the VNC (not working, the screen shows the login screen and freezes), on PC I use Real VNC Enterprise and the same thing happens. It's interesting that iTeleport for iOS has a new update that corrects this DESIGN FLAW. I cannot understand why beta testers never submitted this...

DewVinci Jul 22, 2011 9:08 PM
Re: vnc lion in response to enrico204I've found that if I use RealVNC and set it the option "Only use protocol 3.3", then it works without freezing.

Re: vnc lion in response to DewVinciNot working for me. Real VNC Enterprise from Windows Server 2003 to Lion, the darn thing moves around with the pointer but cannot type the password or press Enter. I guess the whole point of VNC control is down the drain for a while.

Re: vnc lion in response to Ricky Yunot working for me either from XP via VNC - tried ""Only use protocol 3.3"" but this didn't solve anything
interestingly in the system log, after I try to connect with VNC (nothing else) I see the following - there are some logmein lines in there for some reason (also noting logmein is busted under Lion for the moment too...)
