iMac 2011 - no wifi connection after sleep under Lion

another tip for Apple engnieers :

I tried to use a wired keyborad (original from Apple) to wake the compter.

Same problem.

Seems bluetooth is not 100% guilty !?

I don't think this has anything to do with Bluetooth or the hardware. This is a software problem that controls how the wifi reconnects after the computer wakes up from sleep.

I too am having the same problem. I stumbled upon the following solution from a blog. It worked for me:

Just UNCHECK that "Re-open windows when logging back in" button when you log out or shut down and then restart.

I am having exactly the same issue with my new iMac. I have called Apple support today. They told me that it is a known problem, and there is no solution available. The best remedy for today is to wake the computers up by the power button (not mouse, not keyboard), in cases when wired connections are not possible. They promised to resolve this problem with an update in a few weeks.

Great! this worked for me.. it's not perfect, but way better than before!

i have had the same problem having to identify my wireless network each morning...the only thing i changed recently was adding a guest sign on called apple and they reset my computer but to no avail...cant figure why it changed any help would be appreciated

alex this is a great time to get apple to kick you down some upgrades for all your trouble. apple store in Rancho Cucamonga after replacing 3 machines because they could not fix the problem they gave me the 1 tb mac 21.5 for the cost i paid for the 500gb 21,5 mac. although the problem still exists with the new one i can live with it until the fix. i just dont let it sleep. i got 160 dollars off my original purchase of the 21.5 500gb at the return of computer 2 and than on the return of computer #3 they upgraded me to the 1tb at no cost an additional 350 value. apple will give the upgrade you just have to ask.

I have just downloaded the latest update to resolve this issue, and so far it works, that is BRILLIANT.

An update is out! You can now download it under the apple Logo and then in the "search for updates" box

Finally, just downloaded and now coming out of sleep iMac connects to WiFi. I just need to get spellcheck working on the Ipad and I will be pleased again with Apple.

thanks John this fixed my computer. I just wish Apple would have given the stores/sales people heads up on the problem and a estimated fix date. it would have saved apple 3 computers and me a lot of aggervation. thanks again

mine is an iMac 21" mid 2011 and so far so good.
