iMac 2011 - no wifi connection after sleep under Lion

Same problem here on my 2010 27" iMac. It started this after installing Lion.

I called Apple today. They suggested I delete the System Configuration folder (Mac HD/System/Library/System Configuration) and then reboot. Seemed to work OK for me.

Has anybody else tried Bart's fix above? Result?

Same here. Used the tip and when I rebooted, the mousing over the wifi icon on the menu bar showed no wireless hardware installed. I restored the system config folder from the trash and restarted with no issues other than the delay in reconnecting.

Honestly, that is what Apple recommended and it worked great. After I deleted the file and rebooted, I had to set up my wireless network connection again, and since that time, I haven't had one issue.

My problem is that sometimes, when I turn on my iMac, and the OS is loading a process bar appears below the Apple logo. When that happens I know I'll have the issue described below:

- My Wi-fi card appears as ''not installed''. When I click on the Wi-fi options in the top-right corner of the screen it says ''Hardware not installed''.

- My Audio Card has the same problem. So, when I try to manipulate the volume, a forbidden sign appears.

The problem is only solved after a reboot.

At least I have this issue once a day. Hope Apple releases the update soon.

I am having the same problem AFTER I downloaded Lion. This never happened under the Snow Lep. OS. Anyone have a fix. Is Apple addressing this?

Same problem here on the latest Macbook Pro. I did not have this problem right after upgrading to Lion. this has only happened since I last updated my system. Turning wifi off and on does NOT work for me. I used to reboot but now realized that simply logging off and back on works also. Haven't tried any of the fixes suggested above because I prefer waiting until Apple addresses the problem.

I'm experiencing the same thing...when I try Safari's diagnostic, it says my network settings have changed...I enter my wi-fi info again and the thing just stalls (or maybe I'm just not patient enough to let it run!) Never had this issue prior to Lion. I have to restart each time 😟 This is what we've been waiting for? Reailly? lol

I have the same issue with my mid-2010 MBP. My wifi is provided through a Time Capsule - so the entire product stack is Apple 😉 Hopefully there is a fix for this soon.

2011 MBP no problem with snow leopard but after upgrading to lion it wont connect after i wake it from sleep. my network has the check mark next to it and the status in the menu bar is full. gotta turn Wifi off and then back on its fine then. read about taking CD out of drive so i tried it and it worked fine. seems like the busy drive is causing interference or something. hopes this helps some one

Now mother in law's iMac 2011 2.5 i5, has this problem, Ive told her to connect to wired network for time being until an update comes out.

I refuse to fix or modify the system in both computers - I'll just wait for the fix.

Just wanted to clarify, did APPLE Support have you delete the entire Mac HD/System/Library/System Configuration folder, or a file in that folder. Does not make sense to trash the whole folder unless all the files contained are corrupted. In Lion on my 20" 2.5GhZ I5, this is what I have listed in that folder. Seems like they

would have you delete one such as IPMonitor.bundle or IPConfiguration.bundle. Just wonder if that was the case with Bartfrommidlothia, and forgot to mention? I may try removing these one at a time to see what impact they have, if any. If something gets jacked up, a little easier on the machine to replace just a single file that a whole folder... Just my $1.02

After installing 10.7.1 today thr problem is gone
