Vodafone K3520 dongle not working with LION.

Hi guys and girls.

Have had my Vodafone dongle used on my laptop for 2 and a half years without any problems.

Installed Lion last night and now the dongle does not work. Tried downloading the latest K3520 software from Vodafone's website but says it is incompatible. Have loaded the OLD Vodafone dongle software and still can't get a connection.

I've been in touch with Vodafone and they take you to this site...

By the sound of it you've already been there and had exactly the same experience.

They say they are going to ring me back but as far as I can see they need to update their software OR I have to reinstall Snow Leopard to get back my mobile internet connection.

Hi everyone, just spoken to Vodafone support who eventually acknowledged that they needed to release a new version of the dongle software that is compatible with Mac OS X Lion. Apparently their Techies are working on it, but they couldn't give me a release date, just told me to check back at the 'latest software' page of their website in the next few days for an updated version.

Hi Reg,

As promised Vodafone rang me back and gave me the same answer as you did. What amazes me is that Adobe obviously had pre-tested Lion OSX as I had Java scripts to download to update my CS5 software which works.

However, Vodafone were pre-warned as you may have read on their business website that they would have to update their software but seem to have ignored the advice or Apple did not give them Lion to be able to test.

Seems I now have a useless dongle and have to wait however many days for a new software update for something that should have been planned for many weeks ago.

I'll give it a week and if no update on the site then I'll find another provider. We can keep each other posted by using this thread to keep up to date.

All the best,

Unfortunately, Vodafone's solution didn't work for me.

However, I stumbled across this posting (http://xeonwales.blogspot.com/2011/07/mobile-broadband-set-up-on-osx-107.html). I realise that any solution is not always of general application, but this one worked for me even though the blogger is on T-mobile and I am on Vodafone.

Anyway, it's something else to try for those are not having much joy in resolving this issue.
