Final Cut Express + Lion?!

There is no chance of an update. Which version do you have? Is it v4, and is that not working for you.

What doesn't work? I've been using it this morning and seems to work in everything I've tried.

I'm here now because the voiceover tool hangs up now after installing Lion. Still looking for answers as to why. Now I have to use another app to do voiceovers for my video. Very unhappy camper at the moment.

I am also having problems with FCE since upgrading to Lion.

I am having the same problem as 'vtimagemaker' reported.

That is that FCE hangs when you select the voiceover tool. I had no problems at all with FCE when running on SeaLion.

I am using an iMAC running OS 10.7 and FCE 4.0.1.

Any help gratefully received !!!

Have you tried adding a voiceover ?

Which app did you use to create the voiceovers ?

I used Audacity. Nice program. Really don't know much about it except that it works and it's easier to edit the audio tha in FCE. It's also free.

I tried Audacity and it worked well. It was easy to import the file into FCE and it sounded good.

I just bought Final Cut Express for really cheap and now it won't even work?! Apple-why would you make an upgrade that makes programs impossible to use?? Now, when I try to open it it says "You can't open the application Final Cut Express because PowerPC programs are no longer supported." UGHHHH I want my old system back!!!!

What version of FCE did you buy?

Lion does not support the chrome key too!!!

I echo that chroma keys do not work, in fact, any color keying. Also exporting through LiveType is compromised.

I am experiencing an interseting problem with Final Cut Express on OSX Lion. I teach in a Mac Lab at my school. Today I was trying to teach Chroma Keying- which I have been doing for years - but for some reason the color selector would just not key out anything. I tried it on four or five different machines, and it turns out that ONLY my machines that were running OSX Leopard would allow the Chroma Key to function. I have two machines running Lion and the Chroma Key would not work on EITHER of them. I followed the exact same steps, and all of the settings were identical. The hardware was also the exact same package from machine to machine. I feel like there must be an issue with OSX Lion that is breaking the Chroma Key filter. Can anyone help?
