I tried adding an app to my ipod but for some reason it wouldn't download. The next day I tried to turn it on and the only thing that would come up on my screen is the itunes symbol with a chord going to it. Now I cannot restore my ipod. If anyone can help that would be great!
What happens when yu connect the iPod to its syncing computer and try to restore the iPod? Error messages?
I have the same problem.. If you can help.. I have tried lots of stuff but everything takes me to the recovery mode.. iTunes try's to restore but comes up with unknown error (9) any ideas? Thanks Ryan
IF you turn your device into DFU mode, i guess it will solve the problem.
Tried that.. Holding the sleep and home then releasing sleep after 15 secs or something?... No joy there at all mate.. Still has usb plug to
iTunes logo.. Everytime I try the iTunes restore it shows the apple with small empty bar on iPod but then it comes up with the error on pc.. Tried several times on several pcs/laptops.. With different versions of iTunes too..
I have the same problem. I used to be able to restore on my laptop because I didn't do the updates but now I was required to do the update and it just keeps looping around to the restore. I'd be willing to even set it back to factory settings and then do the three hour sync, but that's not an option.
I have a feeling there's a huge problem. I tried calling tech support and I've been on hold for more than 15 minutes.
Okay, after 17 minutes on hold, I get a tech support that won't help because I can't read the serial number off the back of the IPod. They want to set up a support contract because of course this IPod is two months out of warranty and I didn't want to spend $100 for more warranty. Now, I explained the problem was caused by a recent update of my ITunes/IPod but this didn't make any difference. I must pay to get assistance. I think I'll check around, I think HP just came out with a similar product and I know they offer a better warranty. I really thought Apple was better than this. 😠
Well we are in the same boat as you as our iPod is out of warranty too.. Why is this forum called apple support community when apple dont actually write back to us.. And instead you phone up and are told a lot of pish basically stating that cause you are out of warranty they dont give a toss.. Cheers cr-apple
Exactly! I ended up paying $165 for a refurbished IPod, then I get told this refurbished IPod has no warranty - not even the 90 days I was promised when I purchased it. I'm headed to the Apple store in Boston in October and I guess we'll have a little chat when I'm there. Fortunately, I have all of the e-mails spouting apple rubish. I'll print those and take them in. Guess I'll be purchasing HP or some other company merchandise from now on.
