adjust screen brightness in os x lion

I have upgraded to os x lion but the screen is dull and difficault to read, how do I adjust the brightness?

Have you tried looking at the two buttons to the right of the "esc" key on the top row of the keyboard?

I too have this problem, i can temporaly fix it by going to the display setting tab, then clicking on the color tab. This resets the brightness for me, clearly tells me that this is a software issue not a hardware one.


I think the trigger is the auto dim on inactivity or perhaps something to do with the screen saver.


I'm guessing but not sure that this is related to settings imported from os x leopard....
