I have to admit im shocked to hear about all the bad product and service reports . I've bought, installed or managed literally hundreds of Macs since 1986. As a designer, ive used so many models over the years, i can't recall them all. Now, my own company has purchased 12 new macs (desktop & laptops) over the last 10 yrs. In all of that time, i can honestly say ive only had two "lemons" that Apple took care of right away. An old Quadra 840AV (an oldie but goodie) had a bad motherboard which they replaced, and a REALLY old Mac IIcx back in the day that had a bad power supply. All phones and iPads have been great. We typically buy refurbed straight from Apple to save a few bucks and have had great hardware everytime.
Our only annoying issue the last few years has been the blackout problem on one of three new iMacs, but that only happened since the latest Lion patch. Lucky for us, it's is fixed easily by the shift+control+eject - any key combo. Apple has opened a case number and all i have to do is drop it off the the nearest store and they'll replace the vid card.
Apple is far from perfect, but honestly I've have had nothing but great experience with apple products and service over the years. I wish i was paid for this... 😁 but i'm just a user.
In my experience, the best solution is to keep calling Apple, keep calm and try to expain the issue. Eventually they will make it right.
