Aug 15, 2011 5:12 AM in response to rubenlxby Nightfae,Exact same problem.
Current solution, which seemt o work for me:
- Deinstalled flash altogether
- Switched default browser to Chrome
No crash since then, even with regular sleep periods of the iMac.
However, I would like to continue with firefox - including flash support.

Aug 15, 2011 5:16 AM in response to rubenlxby Oliver Kreuzenbeck,Not only video is affected. I've seen some posts on Blizzards community sites with fps issues after installing Lion. As an coincidence, only after they put the Mac into sleep mode and only since they have installed Lion.
Please Apple, just confirm that you are working at this issue. Is this too much to inform your customers?
By the way, my frame rate playing World of Warcraft dropped from about 120 to less than 50 fps after installing Lion. I own a brand new 27" iMac 3,4 GHz i7 with 2 GB graphic memory. Actually the top model with 12 GB memory extension. 50 fps is just not acceptable.

Aug 15, 2011 5:26 AM in response to Oliver Kreuzenbeckby SBK2008,Just wanted to let folks know that I've been having this problem sent an email to App Store support on Sunday. Within an hour, they gave me a refund for Lion. Clearly Apple is aware of the issue if they are posting refunds that quickly based on a simple email. With that said, hopefully a solution is forthcoming as well.
For those of you having issues... at minimum, send an email to App Store support.

Aug 15, 2011 5:50 AM in response to SBK2008by Paolo Vasta,Bought my iMac 2 weeks ago - 27", Core i7, 1TB, 4GB, 2GB Video RAM.
It freezes (only mouse pointer works, audio continues to play) without no hope of recovery when playing .mp4 or flash videos, even when using Quicklook. Quite random, I cannot re-create exactly how and when it happens.
I had Lion installed on my Core 2 Duo MacBook and did not have this issue.
This seems to be an issue with the graphics drivers.
I hope a solution is found soon, as I need to hard-reset the iMac each time it happens.

shame on apple, really. it just ***** like this.

even if flash is ressource-hungry, with my maxed out i7 i should be able to wach a video without a freeze.

Aug 15, 2011 9:33 AM in response to rubenlxby alsays,I got my new 27 inch iMac last week with Lion preinstalled. Loved it but started freezing on me and the only way to get it working again was to hold down power. I'm new to Mac and all in all I like it but this issue has put a bad taste in my mouth. I'll be calling Customer support.

Aug 15, 2011 9:40 AM in response to alsaysby Speedy974,Just as a reminder, what we should all do is to report this to Apple:
- Contact Apple care: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
- Report a bug: bugreport.apple.com (register if you do not have a login)
- Send feedback to apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/imac.html

Aug 15, 2011 12:24 PM in response to rubenlxby Bug_Debug,Add my name to the list as well, brand new iMac27 and it crashes randomly. Support told me to do a clean install of Snow Leopard and forget Lion for now. That's an option but my god, the time it takes to do so...

Aug 15, 2011 12:29 PM in response to Bug_Debugby Steve Self,You could do that, but the concensus is that it does not fix the issue we have been discussing. I got a message from an Advanced Apple Tech Support person. She said that Apple is working on the issue very closely. She did not know when a fix would come. But they are very aware of it.
The only thing that has worked for me is setting the Energy Saver to Never Sleep.
then just shut down at the end of the day.

Aug 15, 2011 2:41 PM in response to rubenlxby FMD023,I was having the problem described by the OP and many others.
I purchased my 27inch iMac two weeks ago, upgraded to Lion, and was expereincing system freezes after attempting to watch flash videos after sleeping the computer.
I was prompted with a Flash update as of yesterday (8/14/11), and it seems to have fixed the problem.
I purposefully attempted to repear the behavior that had previously caused the system lock - with no problems.
I am pleased that Adobe was able to implement a fix so fast.

Aug 15, 2011 2:55 PM in response to rubenlxby SirShorty,I'm getting somewhere with my AppleCare case now.
Called in again today and asked to be put through to 2nd line.
Sent them logs from my Apple - About - More Info - Send To Apple.
Gave them Dates and Times of my freezes, and told them what caused it to freeze (Quicktime, Flash, HTML5 etc..)
They're matching these up to the logs and have passed it onto the engineers for further investigation.
They couldn't emphasise heavier though - please raise your case with AppleCare if you're having these issues.
They are very aware of this forum post but do not have any answers currently (according to the chap I spoke to)
Anyone who hasn't already, please give apple a call.
