Aug 16, 2011 9:00 PM in response to rubenlxby spacecadetG5,Anyone else notice that after installing 10.7.1 and a restart the "AC3MovieImport.component" was automatically placed in the trash? (At least I think it was rather than something I had done!) Perhaps that was a big part of the problem after all.

Aug 16, 2011 8:58 PM in response to rubenlxby Just-a-Spaz,I'm still angry!
I have a Mac Pro and my issue is STILL not fixed with 10.7.1.
I never had a single freeze with flash videos in Safari... it has always been in iTunes or QuickTime Player. My Mac Pro doesn't need to go to sleep to have it freeze during a video and I've tried 2 different video cards already.
My Mac Pro still freezes with 10.7.1 when I try to play videos (not in Safari).
Grrrrrrrrrrr. THIS *****!
Nobody else has this problem?

Aug 16, 2011 9:14 PM in response to spacecadetG5by Thomas Wright1,Not here. AC3MovieImport.component still resides in Library:Quicktime as it was before upgrading to 10.7.1
However, I'm hopeful because I haven't had a system lockup since upgrading.

Aug 17, 2011 1:27 AM in response to Thomas Wright1by bcqdan,Same here, brand new iMac that came with Lion pre-installed. Is there a way to avoid it? It doesn't only happen after comming out of sleep. Is there a response from Apple? Are they working on a fix?

Aug 17, 2011 1:33 AM in response to bcqdanby Nightfae, bcqdan, did you apply 10.7.1? On iMac the issue should be solved with that.

Aug 17, 2011 1:39 AM in response to Nightfaeby bcqdan,Thanks Nightfae, actually I just did a software update. I don't know what version of the OS i had before, but now I have 10.7.1. So far seems ok, I'm playing videos and it doesn't freeze but it was rarely happening in the first place. I see other people saying it's not fixed in 10.7.1.
Anyway, thanks again, I'll get back to this thread if the problem happens again.

Aug 17, 2011 1:57 AM in response to rubenlxby Kirk McElhearn,I've installed the update, and have so far not been able to cause any freezes. This said, there have been other times when it took a while. It's too soon to tell as far as I'm concerned.
I will note that my case was escalated to senior support engineers, and they didn't get back to me telling me that this update was available and would resolve the issue.

Aug 17, 2011 7:50 AM in response to Mac_slideby Steve Self,iMac i7, 3 weeks old, now with 10.7.1, slept overnight.. Ran some videos this am, so far so good. Will know for sure after a full day of editing video and working. But looks good. GO AHEAD AND UPDATE.
And I have never had "AC3MovieImport.component" in the OS or on the hard drive anywhere, before or after the update to 10.7.1. Nor anything with "Perian" in it (except all the email messages referring to it).
