Aug 26, 2011 11:34 AM in response to rubenlxby WalleWalle,Sorry to hear this bro.
I had no freezes since 10.7.1 on my mid 2011 iMac (21,5" i5 4gb - lowest model), so I'm OK i guess.
BUT what I don't understand is that Apple doesn't make an official statement!!!
It is also not mentionned in the HT : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4764
So officially it isn't solved I think or it is totally ignored by Apple. (I had NO reaction on my mail to Apple!!)
Many DJ's use their mac to perform live: what if it hangs??
Or if you give a presentation,...
I wouldn't use Lion professionaly...

Aug 26, 2011 11:41 AM in response to Vincearchby moebis,Yep, I've seen that one too. The green static seems to be the most persistant. W T F is Apple doing? So disappointed. Took them over a month to release 10.7.1 and they are breaking our machines with this GPU glitch/overheating.

Aug 26, 2011 11:47 AM in response to rubenlxby AbeFroman77,Seriously, I just purchased a 2nd 27" iMac for $3k and I shouldn't have to deal with this crap. I can understand if I upgraded to Lion but Lion is preinstalled.

Aug 26, 2011 11:54 AM in response to rubenlxby Don Sullivan,Yet another one for the list. I think I've recently figured out that this is being triggered by attempting to play HD video with Flash on YouTube or anywhere else. Within minutes of playing anything with HD in Flash the corruption begins and things deteriorate until a reboot. Interestingly, I regularly have mutiple user ID's logged in concurrently and when this happens it impacts both User ID's at the same time

Aug 26, 2011 11:58 AM in response to Don Sullivanby AbeFroman77,Yeah, I think it is triggered by HD video because that's when I start seeing the artifcating.

Aug 26, 2011 1:52 PM in response to Vincearchby DerekS,I'm getting the same kind of problems.
What happens is I run a video in iTunes, notice that it's being flickery, and then I can go to Dashboard and it's trashed.
Once it starts screwing up, other areas of the GUI are also affected.
I've seen it mess with shadows, the doc, the title bar, etc.
Logging out and logging back in corrects the problem.

Aug 26, 2011 3:02 PM in response to kjkurienby DerekS,That's kinda my point; the problem is not solved in 10.7.1.

Aug 26, 2011 10:20 PM in response to rubenlxby Robert C Sturdivant,I don't know about anyone else, but my freezing problem seems to have started just in the last few days. I'm running 10.7.1, and I've had many hard restarts and two kernel panics with autoreboot just in the last day. I'm considering putting my old desktop from 2005 back in service until this problem is reparied. I've never had to force restart my Apple so many times before.
My problem seems similar, but the mouse is sometimes unresponsive as well. There will be moments of clarity, where I can click and see the seconds tick over on the clock, but the video playing seems to refresh a few moments after the seconds start ticking. I do hope this is addressed soon...
Interestingly, I haven't noticed this problem on my laptop running the same OS. The only thing odd it's done is the background has changed itself to simple black for no apparent reason.

I'm truly disappointed with a machine rated at 3,000€
I understand that the problem is software, but in practice it doesn't matter, I bought a super machine and can't use it as expected/announced.

Aug 27, 2011 6:06 AM in response to hcaldeiraby gamblinfever,I, too, purchased an IMAC 27" from Best Buy in May 2011, and installed Lion, instant problems, video freezing, Firefox and Skype would not work - deleted Firefox, Skype, installed patch 10.7.1, and latest (beta) adobe flash - running smooth - knock on wood. My gut instinct is that not being able to use Firefox or Skype was 'by design', that Mac is trying to get its users to only use Mac products (they are known for this) - Facetime and Safari in this case. Safari is garbage - don't know about Facetime. This was my first (and last) Mac computer I will buy - par for the course in terms of more junk in my house from Best Buy.

Aug 27, 2011 7:09 AM in response to rubenlxby hwick_ bluenose,@gamblinfever. Try Google Chrome if you don't like Safari. I also only purchased my Mac recently and had the freezing issues until 10.7.1 was issued. Had no issues since and Chrome works pretty well.
