Sep 23, 2011 5:48 AM in response to Fustbariclationby Cantellolo,For me it's the first time with OSX and I am already cursing myself for ever buying a Mac. Just had three more freezes in the middle of working with VMware and browsing (no video sites, but embedded videos seem to be ubiquitous).
Windows never froze that often for me.

Sep 28, 2011 2:25 AM in response to rubenlxby Cantellolo,I have now removed all installed flash plugins (Chrome and Firefox/Safari) and still experience these lockups. Did someone contact Apple regarding this? It is a nearly brand-new machine after all.

Sep 29, 2011 7:26 AM in response to rubenlxby BDNiner,You can add my name to this threat. At first I experience problems only after waking from sleep mode. The video would crash but the audio would continue to play and i could move the mouse around. After a hard reboot everything would work fine. Now this happens even after a hard reboot. It happens with Firefox, safari and regular videos played in VLC.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash, but since it happens with VLC I believe it is a drivers issue. I have a 2011 Mac Mini with the AMD graphics card. I wish AMD would provide updated drivers on their website for Macs

Oct 3, 2011 11:03 PM in response to rubenlxby degraffi,Lion has been a complete failure for tens of thousands of us myself included. Not being able to use, watch, or view video on a mac (which was purchased in part for video production) is painful and pathetic. This has been a documented issue for three months and there is really no real fix, only half-*** solutions like don't use the new operating system.
For video to not work on a brand new 2200$ mac that I purchased with the latest technology is just depressing. I actually have a six year old mac running snow-leopard next to this machine, it plays video flawlessly that has been my "solution."
At the moment I'm trying to convince everyone I know and the mac computer administrator at the univeristy I attend to not purchase Lion on the three labs he administers because of this horrific bug.

Oct 4, 2011 1:07 AM in response to rubenlxby bcqdan,Just disable sleep, and everything works as expected. I'm shuting down my iMac when not in use, Lion boots in seconds anyway. I never liked sleep, hybernate and all that. It's not that much electricity to even keep it on all the time if you want too. I do use the display sleep after a few minutes, but nothing more than that.
Not sure if you can disable sleep on a laptop though, when you close it. I hope it's possible. Is it?

Oct 4, 2011 9:17 AM in response to rubenlxby wjb274,Well, hopefully 10.7.2 will come out soon with the release of iCloud. Until then, I guess just wait it out. I haven't seen any real solutions... Very frustrating.

Oct 4, 2011 11:38 PM in response to wjb274by Cantellolo,Apparently, there are no fixes regarding the graphics system in 10.7.2: http://www.macrumors.com/2011/09/22/os-x-10-7-2-build-11c62-seeded-to-developers /

Oct 5, 2011 2:18 AM in response to Cantelloloby hcaldeira,Sent my computer back to Apple repair agent, the graphics card was replaced and the problem was gone.
About the 10.7.2, I've it installed and at least it repaired the artefacts in the lists (like finder, console, etc).
Even with a new GPU, those artefacts are visible under 10.7.1
Well now I'm happy, finally my "rolls royce" is a fully working machine.
