Oct 10, 2011 5:41 PM in response to rubenlxby Kristin930,I'm having the same issue. I bought my iMac three weeks ago, and most of the time when I want to watch a video on youtube, the iMac crashes and nothing works, except for the mouse. I updated the flash, but it still doesn"t work.

Oct 11, 2011 7:19 AM in response to rubenlxby iNikola,I too have a mid-2011 27" iMac and it freezes completely almost every time my webcam is used! When I open Photobooth, use Skype's video chat, or anything else webcam-related, my system becomes completely irresponsive...
A fix would be much appreciated!

Oct 13, 2011 6:47 AM in response to Cantelloloby Marjean54,I too installed 10.7.2 and am still having freezing problems. It seems by the discussions that it is happening mainly to those of us with iMacs.
I am using VMware Fusion. At times when I am using Safari on the Mac side with VMware Fusion open, I can force quit Safari and it corrects the problem. However, when freezing occurs and Safari isn't open, I just have to sit and wait until the problem corrects itself. Safari isn't the problem as when any application is open, I experience freezing.
When freezing occurs and I click on something, the pages move slightly to the left or right. Again, I never have to force the computer to shut down; I only need to sit at the computer and wait until the problem corrects itself. It is getting mighty disgusting.
When I have some time I plan to call Apple. I will probably get the run-a-round but it won't hurt to try.

Oct 13, 2011 7:26 AM in response to rubenlxby BDNiner,Mine has officially died. It worked for a while after installing the latest flash but last night the video started freezing as soon as i logged onto the computer. Now the computer has a gray screen during startup and will not get to the login window. I contacted apple support and they believe that it is a hardware issue. I am going to try and get it either fixed or replaced at the apple store this weekend. This is what my screen looks like now. After this it is just a plain gray screen.

Oct 13, 2011 8:09 AM in response to BDNinerby Marjean54,Ouch!
Something else that has happened after installing Lion...when I open Safari it doesn't open with my home page, it opens the windows that I had looked at the last time I used Safari. Also when I start any application, such as iWork, it opens the last two or three documents I had worked on; I have to start a "new" document with the opened documents remaining open.

Oct 13, 2011 8:57 AM in response to rubenlxby Quantum3,I have updated to Lion 10.7.2 and all works fine except that my video card was screwed. I take it ou of the Mac Pro and plugged it into a PC Windows and got several times this error: "nVidia Windows kernel mode driver error" on the Win7 OS. Played a video game and happened the same than in Mac: artifacts.
Before this test, I found this website and found there lot of useful information abput artifacts... It seems that Apple shpuld buy us a video card

Oct 13, 2011 9:20 AM in response to rubenlxby Clayton Kroh,I've had the same freezing mouse problem. I end up losing left-click functionality--I can still right click for context menus and such, but as far as selecting with the left click there's nothing. The only solution I've found to fixing this is to do a hard shutdown and restart.
I hadn't connected this to viewing video, but that seems to make sense; the times it has happened seemed to be after watching a video, though it didn't happen immediately (usually I would leave the computer and come back later to discover the mouse in this nonfunctional state).

Oct 15, 2011 4:25 PM in response to rubenlxby BDNiner,So I ended up getting my mac mini replaced today. I had most of my data backed up anyways so there wasn't much that I lost. It is a shame that it only lasted 3 months.

Oct 15, 2011 6:09 PM in response to BDNinerby Marjean54,So what was wrong with your computer DBNiner? You can't be saying they replaced it because it freezes. They'd have to replace a lot of iMacs.

The video card on mine was defective. If you look at the pic I posted that is what it looked like all the time. When the apple guy turned it on he immediately said that they will replace it.
