Jul 26, 2011 3:12 AM in response to rubenlxby spacecadetG5,Add me to the list of iMac 27" (core i5 in my case) having this problem. Disappointing. Will be a reminder to me not to update to a new version of MacOS until the first 'dot one' update.

Jul 26, 2011 4:27 AM in response to rubenlxby MGMatlock,I am also experiencing this problem. I've seen this primarily with embedded video in a web site after waking from sleep. Mouse moves everything else is frozen. I logged in while frozen using SSH could poke around a bit, and thought that doing a software reboot may be less harmful than the Power button reboot so I did a sudo reboot and then SSH quit like I expected but then system did not reboot.
I had zero problems under 10.6.8 My system configuration is:
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac12,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 3.4 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

Also the system log shows a GPU dump fails like everyone elses:

It would be helpful if Apple could release a statement on what we should do until this is fixed: e.g. go back to snow leopard, always shut down vs. sleep, etc

Jul 26, 2011 5:23 AM in response to rubenlxby Harmonvoice,This is ridiculous. Same problem here: 2011 27" iMac 6970 1GB RAM. Hey Apple, How about less secretive product launches and more open beta testing.

Jul 26, 2011 5:49 AM in response to rubenlxby Bugfixer,Dear All,
For the video bug you have two options:
- Uninstall Adobe Flash player and use HTML5 where possible. Better is to use Chrome, that has his internal Flash player
- Use a Beta version of Adobe Flash Player for Lion
Google these two solutions and try. Worked for me both.

Jul 26, 2011 5:52 AM in response to Bugfixerby Celshader,Its not just flash videos, read the thread before posting.
HTML5 youtube will crash it too

Jul 26, 2011 5:56 AM in response to Celshaderby Bugfixer,I did'nt say that it was with Flash videos only, I said that that uninstalling the Flash Player solved my crash issues in ANY case. I don't know why, but also Finder graphics were involved!
The two solutions made everything working fine again. It could be a shared library, maybe, but it worked. So I think you guys could give it a try.
Good luck.

Jul 26, 2011 8:15 AM in response to macchickenby kirkmc,Interestingly, I can't get mine to freeze _every_ time after sleep. Some times I have to try several times to get a freeze, as I did yesterday for an Apple technician.
