Jul 27, 2011 12:48 AM in response to rubenlxby MFranssen33,Hi!
I'm also having the same problems with my iMac 27 inch. After upgrading to Lion(3 days ago) I already got 2 total freezes(panic reports after restart). Somehow this morning it happened when I opened Facebook on safari :-S kinda strange this. Hopefully apple comes fast with an update to solve this problem.
This is the last report, maybe someone understands this?

Jul 27, 2011 4:16 AM in response to rubenlxby MGMatlock,Someone said they downgraded back to snow leopard and solved their problem, so my question is: What is the best way to down grade? I have a TimeCapsule so I could use Time Machine or is it better to install 10.6.7 from the disk that came with the computer and then attempt to install user files? I have a SSD and a 1 TB disk so I could use it in the process as well. Also I had updated iWork apps for Lion. Anyone have some advice or experiences to share?

Jul 27, 2011 4:40 AM in response to rubenlxby tomrudderham,Another user here experiencing the same problems. Latest iMac 27-inch. Any time I play a H.264 video or Flash video the entire Mac freezes – with the exception of the mouse cursor.
Seems to only happen after the iMac has been to sleep. After a restart I don't get any crashes.

Jul 27, 2011 5:26 AM in response to MGMatlockby Mac_slide,Tell you what, it's helped me very tremendously, and since then the Activity Monitor is acting almost perfect and the memory usage seems to be almost normal, it's handleing a more normal usage closer to the G4's use to be like with less ram... what I did and I don't know if this had any bering on things but after this everything smoothed out, almost to the point that if this were to be how it upgraded to - there would nt be many discussions about the problems
I re-installed flash and the several final updates late last night, several new ones within hours, each helped some but the first still locked up... then I went through te Library file and found any program I felt should not be there, including some apparent Risidual files to HP printer, every case I moved te files to another folder - I had already in the beginning de-activated them from boot... I then ran update again and LOW-And Behold - HP printer update for new software --- donno if Lion recognizes if a critical piece was just moved or this was an update from Apple, as I had not checked - just relaying info...
Soon as I updated the package which was 64MB and they were installed, I closed all apps, and opened them and the browsers I could go to 10-12 tabs before starting to get low on Ram.

Jul 27, 2011 5:29 AM in response to rubenlxby kirkmc,I have 12 GB RAM in my iMac. The Apple technician I've been working with asked me to take out the third-party RAM and see if I could reproduce the problem. It wasn't hard.
However, I tried removing only the original Apple RAM, and I haven't yet been able to get a freeze. I've tried sleeping and awakening my Mac several times, playing a dozen videos at once (tabs in Safari, windows in QT Player, and QuickLook), and it won't freeze.
So, anyone with third-party RAM; try taking out the original Apple RAM and see if this resolves the problem for you.
FWIW, my RAM is Samsung.

Jul 27, 2011 5:37 AM in response to OverHazeby Pierro,This video is jiterrry for me as well, but I think it's from the video itself. I trying an ALL my systems, regardless of the OS.
-
Jul 27, 2011 5:42 AM in response to rubenlxby Pierro,The more I'm following the thread the less I'm convinced about a specific issue.
My advise for all would be:
- Try to update your system to the latest build for the OS, and Flash.
- Update all Firmeware available.
- Reset the PRAM.
- Boot once in Safe mode to recreate all caches.
- Remove 3rd party DIMMs, and other 3rd party HW.
If the issue still persists I would also try a clean OS, maybe by creating a temporary partiton using disk utility.
Once it has been done, and you can still duplicate the issue, a good idea would be to contact AppleCare...
-
Jul 27, 2011 6:02 AM in response to Pierroby Celshader,The specific issue is the computer freezes after sleep cycle when decoding video, all except the mouse, have to hard reset...
- Try to update your system to the latest build for the OS, and Flash.
Done
- Update all Firmeware available.
Done
- Reset the PRAM.
Done, at leaste 5 times.
- Boot once in Safe mode to recreate all caches.
Done
- Remove 3rd party DIMMs, and other 3rd party HW.
Dont have any
-If the issue still persists I would also try a clean OS,
people in the thread have done this, still happens.
People HAVE been contacting Apple Care, they dont have any answers either.

Jul 27, 2011 6:08 AM in response to Pierroby SL62,Is this only affecting the new imacs, or are those with older imacs, macbooks, airs, minis etc. experiencing the same thing?
I am so frustrated with Apple and their lack of response to this issue - so much for their whole "It just works" philosophy..
-
Jul 27, 2011 6:17 AM in response to SL62by Pierro,I can't duplciate the issue on a Mid 2011 iMac, nor an Early 2011 MBP. All are running Lion. One from a clean partion, the other after a migration from 10.6.8.
Celshader: I'm just trying to help, I'm not saying there are no issue at all. But you can agree that people are reporting some different issues on this thread.. (Kernel Panic is not equal to a wide system frozen (but the mouse), and is not equal to a corrupted cache, and is not equal to 3rd party DIMMs related issue..)
