Aug 1, 2011 1:40 PM in response to rubenlxby mvaug10087,This seems to have stopped happening for me. I have just played a load of embedded videos from various sites some mp4 in Quicktime...No problems! Weird, the only thing I have done is to Install Java runtime. Don't see why that would make a difference though. Probably the next video I play will bring on the freeze

Aug 1, 2011 2:14 PM in response to rubenlxby tcmman,I am also having this problem, though I don't think it is exclusively linked to video activity. I've had three long conversations with Apple Care and reinstalled Lion twice. Very frustrating. Hoping for a fix very soon.

Aug 1, 2011 3:19 PM in response to tcmmanby rabbit_ch,If I start my brand-new imac (27": 2,7 GHz 2011) in the FireWire Target Disk mode for my Powerbook with OS 10.6 installed, it even freezes (spinning ball) my PB after some minutes. Am I alone with this phenomena?

Aug 1, 2011 3:53 PM in response to rubenlxby spacecadetG5,It is disappointing that an Apple representative has not posted something to at least let us know that a fix is in the pipeline. This is not some minor bug but a massive system-wide crash on brand new machines!

Aug 1, 2011 5:15 PM in response to rubenlxby Jesse Smith1,This happened to me *until* upgrading. If you are forced to use the power button and shut off and restart the computer, you might not want to have any external hard-drives pluged in to your computer until you stop geting these crashes. It can destroy your external hard-drive, and it can get so bad that even DiskWarrior won't be able to fix it. I just lost one external hard-drive because of this.

Aug 1, 2011 6:22 PM in response to rubenlxby WingsNC,Same problem here. Had my new iMac 7 days and now have 4 freezes. Disappointing! I don't blame Apple for having a software bug, but let us know. I will just reinstall Snow Lepoard and wait for a fix, but if that fix is tomorrow or even in a week I dont want to waste my time. Please let us know when you think you will have an update.
Cheers.

This bug is so frustrating... the only saving grace is Lion's new resume feature otherwise I would lose everything every time. Please fix this... Now!!!!

Aug 1, 2011 8:14 PM in response to softwaterby Stephen Finlay,In the case of this fault, that key combination doesn't work. The only way out is to power reset the Mac via the power switch.
