Aug 3, 2011 3:36 AM in response to Bamtanby Kavalade,Yeah I got the video going green and glitchy menu bar as well, as well as freezes about once a day. I try to remember to wait at least 10 minutes after sleep mode before watching a YouTube video but I keep forgetting and I get the freeze as a result. It'll probably freeze after 10 minutes as well but it's my gauge for the moment as to decide whether it's safe to download a video or not. Apple sent me an email saying my 1 TB Seagate hard drive is faulty and that they'll replace it soon, so hopefully that fixes the problem. I bought the Imac about 2.5 weeks ago and recently installed Lion.

Aug 3, 2011 3:38 AM in response to Kavaladeby kirkmc,I don't think the HD will have any effect. I have a 2 TB HD, and I have the freeze as well. I don't think there are that many iMacs with the faulty HDs, and I don't think anyone else has posted in this thread that they have that HD.

Aug 3, 2011 4:38 AM in response to Studio Kby hajk,Except this (installing Snow Leopard on a small partition) won't work on my brand-new 27" iMac that was delivered with Lion pre-installed. I still had a Snow Leopard install disk lying around, but that wouldn't boot.
(FWIW, in the first week I've had five kernel panics and two freezes.)
Signed,
Disappointed.

Aug 3, 2011 4:42 AM in response to hajkby kirkmc,The kernel panics are most likely not related to this video freeze issue, as few users are seeing them.

Aug 3, 2011 9:33 AM in response to rubenlxby Kal V,Same problem since Lion install. Been rock solid under SL for the past few months. Already had two iMac's replaced over the last year, so didn't need this. Specs 27", 3.4Ghz i7, 14Gb Ram, 256Gb SSD, 2Tb HDD, 2011 model. Same freeze issue watching Flash and H.264 content in iTunes & Quicktime. Only cursor movement. But the weird thing was I was streaming a movie for my family in the living room and I was watching Youtube. The iMac froze but the movie kept streaming and they were able to watch the entire movie. They had no idea there was a problem. Also I plugged in my Time Machine HD while it was frozen to check if it would pop up on the desktop, it didn't. However, it backed up while the iMac was frozen. Another time it froze and I was encoding a movie using iFlicks at the time. So I left it frozen for a while. Hard reset the iMac and the movie had finished encoding. Must be a graphics card problem. The UI freezes but under the hood it keeps on chugging away.

Aug 3, 2011 9:45 AM in response to Kal Vby Bronco Nation,Great info there Kal V. I suspected the same as I could hear audio while it was frozen. I await the Genius Bar's call back on my machine after the Kernal Panic prompted me to take my machine in.

Aug 3, 2011 12:24 PM in response to rubenlxby AbeFroman77,The video drivers must be really bad. I turned off Sleep. And after watching a 1080p video on Youtube this is what happens:
