Aug 10, 2011 6:46 PM in response to Keifer.Streetby Sachit.R1,That doesn't work I had the "Restore windows when quitting..." option disabled since I installed Lion.

Aug 10, 2011 7:05 PM in response to Sachit.R1by Keifer.Street,Hm, I've been testing for the past hour with video playback, putting my computer to sleep several times and it seems to have solved the problem completely. Are you sure you have this option disabled? Perhaps my resolution is pre-mature but it appears to have resolved this 100% for me. I will reply if I encounter a crash in further testing, but so far so good
Not to be confused with Reopen windows when logging back in after a restart or shutdown.

Aug 10, 2011 7:20 PM in response to Keifer.Streetby Sachit.R1,Yeah, I had the option disabled... the one in the system preferences.
It didn't work for me.
Anyone else find their issue resolved disabling this option?

Aug 10, 2011 8:17 PM in response to Keifer.Streetby mattsileo, yeah I just tried it (you got my hopes up!!)- hasn't resolved the issue for me though.

Aug 10, 2011 10:18 PM in response to mattsileoby Keifer.Street,Yeah edit to my previous post. After further testing (going to sleep for over an hour) upon resume my iMac continued to freeze during video playback. You can ignore my last post. Looks like we'll have to wait for Apple to get off their duff and release a hotfix in 10.7.1 (hopefully we won't have to wait until 10.7.2 ).

Aug 10, 2011 10:35 PM in response to rubenlxby Odanster,Has the latest update of Flash Player made any difference?
-
Aug 11, 2011 1:32 AM in response to Odansterby MrYamakasi,No, sorry, it didn't. But seriously just set the computer to never sleep and shut it down whenever you won't be using it for a longer while. Thats an easy and working solution untill Apple releases an update.
Lion is still a great OS and don't remember the small price you paid for it. Compare that to the price and all crasher/bugs on windows and you'll understand that this video-freezing problem isn't that much of a deal. Be patient, i'm sure apples is working on a solution!

Aug 11, 2011 2:16 AM in response to rubenlxby m0rph3us,I had been having the same issue, 27" iMac I bought in May 2011.
There was a new version of Flash Player released in the last day or so - 10.3.183.5. I updated to this version, and still had the same problem.
I then tried uninstalling Flash Player and then reinstalling it (the latest version). Since doing this, I have had no further problems, having woken the computer from sleep several times. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Aug 11, 2011 5:36 AM in response to rubenlxby Odylih,Hi there. I have both a 2010 iMac & a 2009 MacBook aluminium unibody.
Both were working fine on snow leopard until the update to lion. Both have routinely crashed when used for any kind of video work- watching or editing with iMovie, premiere pro 5.5, and final cut pro x.
They are both fully updated
I think only a bug fix will make any difference.
In the meantime, i think I'll downgrade my MacBook so at least I can do SOME work.

Aug 11, 2011 5:50 AM in response to rubenlxby RicBuster,I also tried this. The freeze problem is gone. In the Adobe website you can download an uninstaller application to erase all flash files on your mac. Once this is done you need to install the brand new flash player application 10.3. This seems to have corrected the issue for now. Further testing is required but it seems good for now.

Aug 11, 2011 6:57 AM in response to RicBusterby Kirk McElhearn,Yea, I know this thread is long, but many of us have tried such things. If you think you've found a solution, you need to wait at least a day to confirm it. Several posters here, including myself, have reproduced the problem with clean installations with no third-party software. I've summarized all the failed solutions here:

Aug 11, 2011 7:32 AM in response to rubenlxby ryan andreas,I believe the reason some of us have trouble reproducing the problem (e.g. while on the phone with Applecare) is because it has to be asleep for a while. That's why I originally thought updating the flash player solved the problem for me.. anyways..the ball is obviously in Apple's court at this point.

Aug 11, 2011 8:38 AM in response to MrYamakasiby Celshader, remember the small price you paid for it. Compare that to the price and all crasher/bugs on windows and you'll understand that this video-freezing problem isn't that much of a deal.
Microsoft releases patches on the second Tuesday of every month, and I don't find Windows 7 buggy i the least.
I don't mind so much that a bug got through, I just want it fixed in a timely fashion, and I want Apple to keep the community aware that they know of the problem, and that they plan to fix it.
