Jan 28, 2012 4:05 PM in response to mulligans missusby Bob Jacobson,Good to see you can at least Google with Lion! You are slowly getting there. Well done.
You mean, it's only taken me 30 years to get here. That Apple II was a real stubborn cuss, got me off on the wrong foot.
No, your avatar's right next to your name here on the Forum. Is yours a 4GS or G or Q or...? Kisses.

Jan 28, 2012 9:35 PM in response to Michael Empricby siliguri,Similar Problem,
With my mid 2010 Macbook Pro 15" I7 2.66 Hz previously in Snow Leopard I used to get approx 7-9 hrs with MS Office for Mac running alongside iTunes and some smaller apps.
Now with Lion it has dropped to below 6 hrs.
Apple please bring a solid Macbk pro update for fixing this.
Also I have Kernel Panic issues with Lion discussed here https://discussions.apple.com/message/17423549#17423549

Jan 29, 2012 7:01 AM in response to Michael Empricby sebnapi,So, Apple, *** is going on. Sorry - but it's absolutly out of question - the bettery health is absolute poor. 5 cycles and I can browse the Net on a new Macbook Pro for 2,5 hours? For what did I pay you so much money?

Jan 30, 2012 2:57 PM in response to Michael Empricby rmatullo,Seriously now, what is the tech going to say when I direct them to this thread?
Can we get a Mod in here to delete some of this?! Another straw on the camels back: Apple is too cheap/lazy to mod their official forums.
NOTE: If you've been reading this thread for more than a week, we all know who is here purely to antagonize people and who is here actually trying to help. I posted about the Capture_data.dmg and now that post is buried several pages back, for what? This?

Jan 31, 2012 3:06 AM in response to Michael Empricby Cylon-4B,I have filed a claim against Apple in small claims court in Hong Kong for a complete refund of my money. The claim is that the technical specification of the battery is misleading and does not correspond to the true performance of the kit .
I know this is not helping much in resolving the issue but the courts of law are the only way to fight the blatant arrogance of Apple.
and another thing : future , me , customer of Apple ---- they can kiss my backside .....

Jan 31, 2012 11:30 AM in response to Cylon-4Bby mulligans missus,Good luck with the claim. They just finished flogging Samsung in a multi billion dollar suit in court. Apple will miss you. Pity Windows will be following their lead. Good luck.
And Rayced, had a lovely sleep thanks, might leave the old mac running on battery and go for a swim.
Cheer up

Jan 31, 2012 1:01 PM in response to mulligans missusby Loerincz,We all know that this diacussion board is monitored by Apple. Try to post something that contains an email address or anything related to piracy and your post will be deleted. Yet, what I cannot understand is why Apple does not take any action agains people like mm or csound who keep poluting this thread and insulting people. Any other decent message board is moderated - this does not happen here. So, in my opinion, either Apple likes the fact that a couple of board members keep stating that they do not have Any issue relAted to the short battery life and is willing fo accept anything, no matter how insulting this is, or Apple simply does not give a s*** about what people are writting here and and their problems. I am totaly dissapointed with Apple's attitude so far and how they simply ignore the customers who spent a great deal of money on a product thT is simply not performing not even close to the specifications advertised.
I subscribed to this thread hoping to find. Solution to the problem. This is unfortunTely not the case. If Steve was still between us, he would have probably kicked a few ***** and made sure the problem would be fixed once and forever. I an dissapointsd to see that once Apple got our money, we no longer count for them.

Perhaps they don't share your opinion?

Jan 31, 2012 1:19 PM in response to Loerinczby mulligans missus,Wow Lo!! Who woke up cranky! This is a user to user thread. You refuse to understand. In one breath you abuse others and in your last paragraph you abuse Apple, and it's everyone's fault but yours that you have computer problems. Maybe Apple are working on a fix, maybe they are not. Nobody knows, even most at Apple. A system update will be released when it is stable and fixes what Apple aim at fixing or improving. If that includes Battery life issues then we will find out when released. Meanwhile be patient and polite and perhaps even try enjoying your Mac.
Cheers

Jan 31, 2012 4:22 PM in response to Loerinczby daycor,Hi Loerincz.
Unfortunately to keep censorship to a minimum, most comments are acceptable if they abide by the rules of conduct. As for the trollers, most people can see for themselves what the message represents. Self serving, ego and ignorance.
When there has been this much interest in this thread, articles in national publications and elsewhere on the net concerning this issue; I suspect there is a legitimate problem.
What Apple decides to do about it, at this point who can say.

Jan 31, 2012 7:52 PM in response to Michael Empricby mvgodinho,After I realized that no help would come from this "over-trolled" topic, I decided to send a email to no one but Tim Cook, to tell him about the battery issue, letting him know about this topic, the Forbes article and even the "Apple's Vista" joke.
To tell you the truth, I didn't expected to be answered, but thought it would be worth the shot.
Believe it or not, just two days later I received a response from Chris W. B., Corporate Executive Relations, telling me that I woulb be contacted over phone to investigate the issue. Tonight, he called me (an one hour long international call to my cellphone in Brazil, actually), asked the machine serial number and some questions about the issue, then transfered the call to a technician named Patrick W.
He asked a few questions about open applications, Safari tabs and login items. Then he asked to send a report from system information, checked the battery status, made me e-mail him two screenshots from activity monitor (5 min lapse between them) and, finally, acknowledged there was really something wrong with the MacBook battery.
And this is the part where Mulligan Missus and CSound1 will get truly embarassed: he sent me over an e-mail an application called "Capture Data.app". This app, after some routines, created a file in my desktop named "ACCD_MacBookPro_1.dmg", which I sent back to Patrick and will be redirected to Apple engineers, who will be getting back to me tommorrow night, probably.
So, I can confirm that what Franc_Iphone said - and was ridicularized by Mulligan Missus and CSound1 - is absolutely true. There is such diagnosis tool and it really creates a file named ACCD, which is send to Apple engineering. So much for the trolls...
I'll let you know when Apple give me a definitive position about the issue.

I was getting so sick of the whiny troll talk.

Jan 31, 2012 4:57 PM in response to mvgodinhoby Csound1,Who said there was no such tol, I said that the file had a name
here
Do you think we are stupid? files have names!
In response to Franc, who said
Re: Lion - Horrible MacBook Pro Battery Life
Jan 18, 2012 6:52 AM (in response to Redarm)
It doesn't have a name. Sent as a DMG and creates ACCD dmg files that I forwarded to Apple.
Which is obviously bovine output.

Jan 31, 2012 6:45 PM in response to Csound1by mulligans missus,They just get worse and even lie more every time a fix fails them. Of course there was a tool. Franc just couldn't tell us the name of it. It was widely advertised on the developers site and two days later followed by another beta update. I see those who have serious concerns have moved on towards repairing their issues and left this tread as Comedy Central.
Cheers
