Q: Lion - Horrible MacBook Pro Battery Life

An update for OS X Lion (10.7.1) has just been released.

There is no mention whether it will fix the battery issues some of us have been experiencing (me included) but I'll download the update and give it a try.

Well, since I applied the 10.7.1 update, the battery reading seems to be a bit more optimistic, although 11+ hours maybe be pushing things slightly!

After 8 minutes, another 2% has been used and remaining time is nearly 8 hours. Things are looking good so far

It does depend on what applications you are running. With just Safari, I get 5.55 with a 97% charge.

Have you updated to 10.7.1? I was made live about 1 hour ago.

Yeah.  No improvement.

I solved problem with the battery life only by installing gfxCardStatus and using integrated video card only.

Very simple, it is still use discrete video card using skype for example, as a result remaining time at full battery is about 3 hours.

3 hours hasn't elapsed yet, can you see into the future (what's tomorrows lottery numbers)

I am trying to say that until it goes flat nobody knows how long it last

Same issue. I opened mine after a full charge and the battery indicator read 0%. I was able to work on it for about another 45 minutes then it shut down with no warning. I've tried everything on the forum and it does the something. Also, it is a new battery and now it's showing battery needs service....only sometimes though...VERY FRUSTRATING
