DesktopsMy battery useage varies from less than 3 to close to 5 depending on what I am doing, did so when new, but both numbers were a bit higher.

Oct 2, 2011 2:43 PM in response to lesliefromstockton-on-teesby IMightBeThomas,Yes it does depend on the usage, but there has to be some usage! I could swear they used to advertise Macbook Pro's battery to last 10 hours as well. Mine used to last about 7/8 if i would just surf the internet or work on a word document. Thats very good battery life, and so now anything less (especially after an "upgrade") is disappointing.

Oct 2, 2011 3:35 PM in response to Csound1by DrChandra,In the beginning we had a backup solution of reversing to SL but it seems that recent updates took that away from us. Thank you Apple.
So, what we can do?
1. Hope that everything goes perfect with iPhone5 launch so they can shift focus on some "less important" issues Go iPhone, Go and I may consider dropping my SGS2 for you (maybe - yeah right)!
2. If you really need battery to last over 3.5 hours Install SL and do not run any update (not tested yet)
3. Call Apple support, log a call, get your job/reference number. By doing this we can boost our numbers in their call list and eventually gain some priority and make a move towards the top of the queue. The higher priority, the more stuff will work on our issue.
4. By doing above you'll have the record that you experienced problems after installing Lion or SL updates. This may become handy if you ask for a battery replacement in the future. We still don't know what is going to be our battery health after 6 months of charging 2 times a day.

Oct 3, 2011 6:00 AM in response to Michael Empricby hemamalini,I was also frusturated for last 2 montsh with Lion.
Try this to see if it improves. Stop using Safari - Remove it frm the panel and memory.
Download Opera for MAC. Now you would see lot of improvement. Just browsing comes to 6 hours with 69% battery life . Something wrong with Safar in Lion upgrade. I see lot of improvement when I stoped using Safari and started Using Opera. Opera is much faster than safar and only drawback is that you can not go to prev page by swiping your finger sideways and this was introduced in Lion. who cares. I will use back button for that.
Opera Rocks !!

Oct 3, 2011 12:03 PM in response to Michael Empricby Dark Dave,Hey there I have exactly the same problem with my MacBook Pro 15" i7 2011.
Maybe it can be fixed with Lion 10.7.2.
Anyway does someone already have the new developer version?

Oct 3, 2011 12:08 PM in response to Michael Empricby umbertom,I called Apple Support to file a case. We all need to do this as a way to raise the visibility. I'm sure everyone's patience is starting to wear thin.

Oct 3, 2011 12:37 PM in response to umbertomby Dark Dave,Yeah I think thats true.
I called the apple support today and the women I talked with said that some of the other customers she dealt with had "nearly" the same issue as I do.
Apple please fix it.

Oct 3, 2011 1:12 PM in response to Dark Daveby Franc_Iphone,I concur, we should call to report. I noticed some of the Apple press have been tweeting this issue now too.
I must admit, I've tried every suggestion going and the genius bar admitted it's being worked on.
Fingers crossed. -
Oct 3, 2011 1:37 PM in response to Franc_Iphoneby F_F,Hello all,
Another shot in the dark regarding the source of the battery drainage might be the Citrix remote connection plug-in. It is described in this blog:
http://www.shaasthra.com/2011/08/revealed-mac-os-x-lion-battery-drain.html
and is implicated on Citrix's own support page:
http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX130356
I haven't tried uninstalling it yet. It would surprise me, though, if just the presence of the plug-in drained the battery so much. Since my laptop is new, and nothing on it is important, it might be worth doing a fresh OS install and then uninstalling the Citrix plug-in. I'll post anything learned.
