3 Finger Scroll gone in Safari

The 3 finger forward/back has disappeared out of my Safari. I use this to move back & forth between webpages that I have visited. Is this just mine that has vanished, or has it gone all together.


I hope it hasn't been removed totally, as I find this way a lot easier than click the forward/back buttons.

You can access this in System Preferences and change it, it works well with a Magic Trackpad

well, considering there are more gestures now

i guess they had to do some modifications

pretty soon it's either going to be voice activation or fingers & toes..maybe😁

i am doing a 2 finger swipe to go left or right btween pages in safari

prefs. has all you need there to alter things

here's a little cheat sheet for you : but remember you can modify these by checking or unchecking the item

Cursor movement Up/down Left/Right


2 Finger Gestures


Scroll Up/Down Left/Right

Secondary Click - Tap

Zoom - Pinch / Spread

Smart Zoom - Double tap

Rotate - Rotate

Forward/Back Pages - Swipe Left/Right


3 Finger Gestures

Look up Definition - Tap

Drag Drag


4 Finger Gestures

LaunchPad - Pinch

Show Desktop - Spread

Mission Control - Swipe Up

Expose - Swipe down

Swap Desktops - Swipe Left/Right


* Some Definitions can be Changed in System Preferences


The following options are now in System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse and TrackPad tab > Trackpad options….


Double click speed

Scroll speed

Scroll with inertia

Drag Lock

Ignore built in Trackpad
