Hey,
For some reason whenever I export a movie directly from FCP the movie usually has about 10 seconds of a black screen added to the end.
Does anyone know how to sort this out? I already tried adding a 2 second slug to the end with Cross-Fade transition bu that didn't help. And just incase anyone is wondering, the main setting I choose is HDV 1080p24.

make the timeline active and hit the "end" key. Does it park on the last frame of your sequence?
Have you tried deleting your preferences? Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager is a great and easy to use tool to do this.
It does goto the last frame and I've tried the piece of software you have mentioned but I still has about 10 seconds of a black space added to the end.
It seems to only happen to HDV settings but the standard setting don't seem to add the screen
Try marking an in on your first frame and an out on your last frame. FCP will export between the in and out.
That didn't seem to work either and made sure it would include the markers too
Are you using file: export: quicktime movie with current settings? Or are you using file: export: quicktime conversion? If so, what settings are you using?
Export > Quicktime Movie > HDV 1080p 24

Yes, that doesn't add the extra footage but I need the HD setting
What are your sequence settings? SD?
Yes they were
Just changed them to HD and that seemed to work

You might want to describe your workflow. Exporting your project with current settings from fcp and customizing an HD preset in compressor will give you access to some tools that may give you better quality in uprezzing the material.
