3 finger gestures in Lion

So, I've worked out how to change the trackpad so a three finger swipe left goes back a page and a three finger swipe right goes forward a page, but a three finger swipe up or down used to go to the top or bottom of the page, how do I get this back? There are some very large files where this was useful, I can use cmd + up or down arrow, but it would be nice to have the old gesture still working and it wouldn't mean the three finger up and down swipes aren't redundant, as they are at the moment.

I think that you have to fiddle with the number of fingers for a gesture in the System Preferences> Track Pad window, as there is a small carret or pull down menu next to each gesture, where the user can change the number of fingers used in a gesture. Four finger scrolling back and forth in full window open apps was working, so I changed it to three fingers and the scrolling worked. I think, and again I am still experimenting, that some gestures with the same number of fingers conflict with each other. It might be possible to change the up down movement with the appropriate pull down menu on the Track Pad guide in System Preferences.

I also miss this gesture. I even have jitouch (trackpad gesture enhancer) which also supported the three-swipe-up and down, for scroll to top/bottom. I downloaded an update for jitouch today that was for the Lion, but still it do not work. I love this feature when browsing large webpages like newspapers. This happens all the time all day every day.

This gesture needs to come back.

I was just fiddling with this and figured it out.

Go to Systems Preferences > Trackpad > More Gestures > Check box next to Mission Control > Choose Swipe up with four fingers

Make sure the Mission Control box is checked and on the part of the menu regarding Mission Control where you designate either 'Swipe up with four fingers' or 'Swipe up with three fingers' choose four fingers. As a side-effect of this, when you're in your browser or wherever and want to get to the top of the page, you can now do it with three fingers.

When Mission Control is not checked, the 3 & 4 finger gestures both do nothing.
