The "Server Status" dashboard widget is not included in the 10.7 Server Admin download. However, I found that you can copy the widget from a 10.6 machine and it will work just fine.

The more important problem for me right now is that Workgroup Manager doesn't seem to work. On two machines (Mac Pro and MB Pro) that I've upgraded to Lion, and downloaded the Lion SA Tools, WGM will not connect. In fact, it will not even attempt to connect -- the Connect button is greyed out, and pressing Enter in the user name or password fields has no effect.

Other tools -- Server Admin, Server Monitor -- seem to work just fine to manage my 10.5 and 10.6 servers.

Is anyone successfully using the 10.7 version of WGM??

I'm having the same issues, also I have noticed that server admin in 10.7 does not manage sl or leopard servers as well. I understand services have been split up, but I'm a professional and it is just embarrassing to use server app as an system admin near my windows co-workers.

When downloading and installing Server Admin Tools 10.7 I am missing Server App. Is there a way to run this on my MBP to control my Mac mini server without installing Lion Server on my MBP? I would like to be able to control all services on my server without screensharing as the servers' screen might be used for other stuff..

WGM works fine for me, though I have to always change the server address when logging in, otherwise the login button remains inactive.

You need to buy/download Server.app through the App Store.

You can then use "Manager" (not sure about the English name, the left-most menu item) and connect to server.

I have downloaded and installed on a fresh install, some of the tools do not work or connect to the server.

For WGM, you have to make sure your OD controller has been setup.

Using the server.app I went to the button at the bottom left under next steps that says add users. In there it gave me the option to create a new open directory server. I was then able to connect using WGM and reimport my users from SL.

In theory, an upgrade from SL should not have this problem.

Use Time Machine. The 10.6 Widget is found here:

/Library/Widgets/Server Status.wdgt

So just enter Time Machine while you're in the /Library/Widgets/ directory and go back to a snapshot prior to your 10.7 upgrade.
