Q: I want Front Row Back

I'm sure I'm like a lot of other people here.   I want my Front Row back.....  

 

I listen to a lot of Podcasts, watch movies from an SMB share, look at my photos, oh and listen to music.   Front Row has done this for year after year, and last night, once I found it was gone, I wanted to go back to SL.  How can Apple think they'll ship the new OS without the media center (Front Row) which has been around since what?  2005-8? 

 

Honestly, if this is some sort of push (on their part) to their iCloud crap, they are in for a rude awakening.

 

Apple should stop taking away our functionality.   This one step forward and two steps back is getting really lame.

 

Plus, there also seem's to be a lot of bugs.   new one for me is then I have my two 24" displays connected (3 screens total).  Once I plug my iPXXXXX in both 24" displays go back!!!   OMG  The insanity!!!

Here is the reason I will not upgrade to LION. I purchased a MacMini and a remote control earlier THIS YEAR and set it up in my living room and connected a 42 inch monitor through HDMI. Now when I come home at night I have news podcasts from some of the world media waiting for me. All I have to do is to grab the remote and I am getting my news updates. I don't want to use a keyboard and a mouse because I have a todler who won't leave those alone. When I want to play music for my child I use the same remote to access my whole music library. My system works with FRONT ROW. I don't want to mess up my system with 3rd party applications. I am very disappointed that Apple took something that works perfectly for a lot of us and discontinued it. I will not upgrade to Lion until it includes Front Row.

    I do not think that there is hope - neither yet nor in the future. Apple's solution is AppleTV, I guess.

     

    But can find an alternative in the Mac App Store: nessMediaCenter

    The MAS version does not offer any internet content (like movie trailers), but at its support web page you can download other versions including a demo. And these versions are newer...

    hello... sorry that i was not onvolved in FrontRow...

    BUT its possible to access every data saved on microsd-cards saved long time ago when they are  plugged inside your []mobile [multiple devices usage ability] mobile hotspot .these works of course if its not simlocked with every gsm or producersupported signal and sim card.

     

    with devices like i used since some years ago your are then able to watch all your saved content on the mounted microsd card directly in html  over the ip in your browser and with your personal ssid.

    Because Apple removed Front Row, I now must buy a separate monitor / TV and an Apple TV, just to listen to my music from my couch.

    What on earth made Apple deliberately downgrade their Macs? They gave us candy and took it away.

     

    They must be able to understand that some people are just renting a room somewhere and do not want a TV just to use Front Row aka Apple TV.

     

    To me this is the nr. 1 on the list of odd business decisions.

     

    I hope they don't think it will make more people buy Apple TVs ???

     

    None of the other solutions out there got it right, not by a long shot.
    BRING FRONT ROW BACK !
