I've updated my MBP to Lion last night, I have been unable to do a Time Machine backup ever since. I use a 1TB Seagate GoFlex, I've tried using both the USB3.0 cable and a FireWire800 cable.
I am not talking about getting past the "Preparing Backup..." phase, the backup process simply gets stuck at several kb. It doesn't seem that it will ever end.. It's getting kinda irritating. Pls help. Thanks!

Yep same problem here. Installed Lion yesterday and TM now gets stuck at 25K of 12GB. Been like this for a couple of hours. Tried stopping and re-starting but gets suck again.
You may need to start over with your time machine. I had this problem and I just started over. Do you back up wirelesly or cable?
wireless but this has never been an issue before.
Did you try deselect the back up disk and select it again.

hi all, just to update, the time machine has miraculously fixed itself.. no idea how it got fixed though. i tried many things to try fixing it.. even after restarting the mac several times, shut down and trying the next day, removing time machine, changing some options and omitting some folders didn't work.
the time machine back up just got stucked again at 26KB and slowly went up bit by bit.. after a while, it started to pick up and finally completed.. subsequent backing up has no problem anymore..
Same here. I re-connected via ethernet left it overnight and it comepleted......very slowly. Put it back on wi-fi (its in a firesafe zone !) and its gone back to normal. I can only assume that it was doing something internally after the Lion upgrade.
I have Time Machine problems to. Alongside with other bugs. I installed OS X Lion 4 days ago and since then I have unstable WIFI on my TM and trouble accessing TM. Furthermore I have problems accessing mail.
