Will the new mail finally sync with Hotmail?

The old mail preference didn't really allow you to chose which protocol to use to access Hotmail. Now that we have a configuration panel that's similar to the iOS device I was hoping that someone here may know how to configure the mail to finally be able to sync with Hotmail. I thought that there may be a way to use Exchange like the iOS devices? I even tried using the m.hotmail.com as the server but that didn't work.

So anyone with any good ideas???
