No Signal on HDMI TV After Lion Upgrade

I just installed Lion on my Mac mini and my TV no longer receives a signal over HDMI. I've tried a bunch of different cobinations of restarting the TV and computer without any luck. Without a display, I can't use Screen Sharing to try chaning any of the prefrences. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thanks.

I've got the same issue... Mac Mini wont boot to HDMI and Screen Sharing wont link in since Lion upgrade......

A makeshift solution is unplugging the HDMI during boot up, give it 30sec's - 1min...plug it back it and then it should come up.... works for me for now.....

hopefully someone has a more permanent solution or mac solves the issue ASAP....

Cheers

Same issue except the 30sec-1min solution does not work for me and my screen remains scrambled. Fortunately I have a Apple Cinema display which I used to enable screen sharing.

Hope this gets fixed soon!! Pretty gutted as I first ran the upgrade and then blitzed the Mini because the display was blank, did not expect it to be an HDMI issue!!

I am having that same issue with my mac mini. I tried two things one of which or maybe both worked. I first tried to reset the PRAM and NVRAM. This allowed me to boot into recovery mode, but did not transfer my account. I then restarted it and waited to plug the HDMI in for about 2 minutes. When I did plug it in, it worked fine. Until this is fixed I will be avoiding a restart at all costs. Hopefully this helps.

Which TV's and/or displays are you all having problems with?

Are the TV's/Displays connected directly to the Mini or

perhaps through a receiver?

If you attempt to start up from the OSX install disk that came

with the Mini, does the display work?

Did you back up your system (clone or Time Machine) and

do a restore to return to Snow Leopard? Does it work then?

MBA, the good thing is that it has something to do with

Lion alone. What I mean by this is that Apple didn't sneak

some firmware update into Lion.

See if it works by starting in safe mode. Power down and

wait at least 10 seconds. Then power back up again and as

soon as you here the start up hold down the shift key until

a screen with the spinning wheel comes up (if it does).

This turns off any sort of special extensions and drivers.

If it does end up booting, then can go from there to

figure what may be the problem. Worth a shot.

Well, I just got around to updating my Mini to Lion. And

guess what? Had the infamous no signal. Played around

with pulling power, zapping PRAM, unplug and plug routine

with out results. For grins and giggles, I took a Display Port

to HDMI adapter and tried the connection that way.

Guess what? With the display port adapter to HDMI I got video!

Got through the initial boot stuff and to my dektop and things are

functional.

Here's were things get weird. I shut down, plugged the HDMI cable

back in directly, rebooted and it worked. Then shut down again.

Waited for several minutes and rebooted. Black screen!!!!

Forced shut down. Plugged it back together with Display

adapter. Restarted got spinning cursor gray screen then

black, forever. Forced a power down. Started up zapping PRAM,

reboot after zapping PRAM brought screen back to desktop.

Haven't shut down yet waiting to repair permissions, while I can.

I believe my Mac Mini is now out of warranty (just). Anybody contacted Apple support directly as opposed to this forum?

I can't find the original disks for my Mac Mini and the retail Snow Leopard disk that I purchased will not install so I am left with a somewhat bricked Mac Mini. Not impressed with Apple at the moment. I have a new Macbook Pro with Thunderbolt that now causes my Apple Cinema Display to flicker and scramble and now my chuffing Mac Mini has been screwed by Lion! Not impressed with the testing!

Well it just plain looks like Lion BREAKS any HDMI

connection to the Mini. Odds seem less than a coin toss

as to whether you will get video or not at any given restart.

May give a shot at doing a clean install. For now, going back

to SL. Well, at least Lion worked on 2 of my computers.

Sometimes I wonder if the Mini isn't the ugly sister of the

Mac line up that no one pays a lot of attention to.
