Clicked on Links Stays Purple in Safari 5.1
Why do links on Safari 5.1 stay purple when I clear history?
I had the same problem, it turns out it is not safari but rather google (at least for me). I am logged into my google account and had Web History turned on. Turn the feature off and the purple goes away. The setting is in your google account under privacy settings. Hope this helps.
