Roland cut studio

Installed Lion 24hrs ago, Ive just gone to use Roland Cut Studio to get a job out, the plugin runs fine in illustrator 5.1 however when you click the cut icon nothing happens, I have emailed Roland, just wondered if anyone had this issue and knows of a work around.

I have another mac but wont be updating to Lion until all the chinks are worked out, I was hoping that these were done with the beta testing, I went to Mac 2 years ago, just now hoping they dont go down microsofts route of releasing products then working out the bugs as they go.

I do appreciate this is a Roland issue as they produce the hardware & software. Just saying is all 🙂

Hey guys! I'm using Mac 10.7.4 (lion) and have the Cutstudio plugin and everything for Illustrator so I can cut from my GX-24...

Everything seems to be fine, I clicked the cutstudio window and have all the buttons to send to the printer, when I press "Cut" in the cutstudio plugin, it seems to hold for a second, and then it says "FINISHED" and the roll in the GX-24 moves a fraction but nothing cuts out?

Any ideas?

thanks for the quick reply mate!

I'll have to go and buy another lead then I guess as I don't have any more of that type. The person I bought it off was using the current lead with no issues though, so I'm a bit lost..

It's definitely working as I did the "self test" which cuts out the CAMM1 logo and that was fine.. but It seems like when it's sending the data of the paths from illustrator it either stops and doesnt send it all through or it's just not working (it doesnt give me any kind of error or anything, just comes up saying Finishes).

Have you tried deleting and re installing the plugin ? sorry but I always check the basics 1st ...

I had a PC to fix, when I returned it to the customer all was well, they then rang and said their back up drive wasnt working, I collected it all again and spent 4 hrs trying to work out the problem, then as a last resort (normally a 1st resort) I tried a new USB .. all was then well ...

Was the cutter working on a previous version of OSX ?

Sure does... I've been having issues with Ai being slow and crashing with the extension open though 😟

Have emailed support, but can anyone who installs tell me if you have problems using keyboard shortcuts after using the function in the CutStudio window. My computer seems to not like any shortcut that uses CMD+. Works if I switch to another program and back again or use the mouse to select functions.
