Download Lion Again

Hi,

I successfully downloaded and installed lion from the app store.

Unfortionately, Apple deletes the installer from the applications folder after instal.

How can I download Lion again on the same computer? If I go to the app store, it just says 'installed', and won't let me download it again.

So to be clear, what I want is the installer file.

Thanks,

Gabe

Here is something to try:

Trash (Don’t empty it until your certain you won’t need them) the following files:

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.storeagent

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist

~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist

The path is HD/Users/Your Account/Library/...

If the file doesn’t exist that’s OK.

Thanks ... Ken

Gabe,

According to: OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery:

"To redownload the installer on a computer running OS X Lion, press and hold the Option key while you click the Purchases tab. If the button to the right of the Install Mac OS X Lion item doesn't change to "Install" and allow you to download Lion, use Spotlight to search for "Install Mac OS X Lion" on your computer."

I'm going to completely reinstall SL and Lion. I've followed your (Ferd II) instructions to redownload Lion. How do I then put the file on a disc ready to be isntalled? I have an SSD and HDD. My SSD is my main OS drive - so could I jus tplace the Lion installer on the HDD and install from that later?

Also, if I back up my SSD over to my HDD will I be able to drag back things like emails and bought apps?
