It's slow for me. 2008 Mac Pro with ATI Radeon HD 2600.

Perfectly useless statement. What's slow? Compared to what? When is it slow? When is it not slow? What OS are you using? Give us some names and numbers (OS versions, app names, framerates, etc.)

As the thread title says, Lion. Also in Mountain Lion and Mavericks. All of the graphics are always slow. I haven't done any real tests, but it's obvious that the GPU works hard (noisy), and everything is slow and glitchy.

Actually, I just upgraded to a GTX 650 Ti Boost, which is perfectly smooth.

Hello, I've read all posts but I now I don't know what to do anymore....

I've got a problem with my iMac being very slow. It takes at least 3 minutes to start up a webbrowser. Safari, Firefox, Chrome it doesn't matter which one. But also all my other programs it takes at least that much time to start up any of them. Could this be the same problem?

    I've got an iMac 24,5 inch 2007, 2,8 Ghz intel core 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR3 sdram, ati radeon HD 2600 Pro 256MB. OS X 10.8.5 installed.

I regularly clean my mac with Mackeeper. and all software is uptodate.

    Thanks

Let's not forget about another reason that may slow things down:

make sure you don't have too many fonts activated - in case someone works with Illustrator, Indesign.

I Suppose you are right if I were using illustrator. But I'm not

The Kext fix is definitely working on 10.8.5!

    See other topic

    @Wolflady

Is your ML installation an older / updated one? or is it a clean installation?

Apply the combo update 10.8.5 and not the Delta (store) update.

    Restore permissions

Run a app from the store "ccleaner" (cleans tmp/cache files) you lose your cookies/saved passwords in cookies etc... (it is disabable).

    Still no result?

Backup your iphoto/outlook/dokument/music etc.. and do a fresh clean install of ML with a HD format.

Then apply the 10.8.5 combo update en the Kext fix

There are a few things to try:

Use Activity Monitor.app to diagnose the problem.

    Remove MacKeeper.

    Reinstall Mac OS X.

    Install more RAM.
