Can't type in Keynote
Bought Keynote in the MAS but I'm not able to type anything into a keynote-document. Working under Lion and have the latest version of Keynote.
What can I do?

Editing with the mouse is possible though. I can copy and paste text by using the mouse. But it's impossible to write something into the keynote with my keyboard despite the fact that I can use shortcuts like CMD + V etc.
Same thing is happening to me, probably related to the Keynote upgrade I did last night.
I can type fine but when I click in the font-size box and try to type a number, nothing happens. After than, I can not type anywhere in text boxes throughout the application. I can go to another app and type fine and then go back to Keynote and type in text boxes again but trying to type a number in the font-size box always produces the same error. I can selected a pre-defined font-size fine.
I saw the same issue reported in another Keynote discussion group. The person running into it booted into Safe Mode <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/21245.html>, and they are able to type:
"I tried restarting in Safe Mode and KN appeared to be working. That means I've
got some sort of start-up conflict with something.
For those of you who have ever had a problem like this, the way you trouble
shoot is by turning off half of the start ups. If everything is okay, the
problem is with one of the start ups that was turned off. So you turn on half of
them and start again. If there's a problem, it's one of the ones you turned on.
No problem, the issue is with one of the remaining start ups.
I've got a long night unless I'm lucky!"
Thanks Cris!
Starting in Safe Mode didn't worked the way it should (because all the sheets in Keynote now were black...), but starting it in the "normal" mode and then shutting down all programs that are not used (also things like Dropbox or Alfred) was the "solution". Now I can edit again my Keynote-document. That was my rescue for the presentation of my master thesis. Thank you!
The troublemaker was an old version of "BetterTouchTool". Today there was an update to repair the conflicts with Lion and now everything is fine.
