Can't press "Customize" button while reinstalling Lion

Hi, everyone,

I tried the following ways to perform a custom installation of Lion but none of them worked:

1. Reboot from Recovery HD

2. Reboot from Lion DVD (burned from InstallESD.dmg)

3. Reboot from SD memory card (cloned from InstallESD.dmg)

The Customize button went gray in all these modes. How could I have a customized installation of Lion?

----

PS. I perform these three modes on my Macs:

Mac mini (mid-2009) with external DVD drive

MacBook Pro (late-2010, 15", unibody)

Thank you!!

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8), mid-2009, 8G RAM, 500GB HD

None of the optional packages are installed by default anymore (including printer drivers).

If you want a optional package such as a printer driver or Java, you will get a prompt asking you to download it from Apples servers the first time you try to use it.

Other things that used to be on the install DVD such as Xcode now come from the app store if you want them.

Edit: I'm not sure about Languages though, they might still get installed.

Thank you, guys. That's what I am concerned about. I prefer specific unused language packages and support files not to be installed and this will save hard drive space. Thank you again.

Cheers,

Alay

There are 3rd party programs that will delete the languages. Try a google search and be sure that its been updated for Lion
