Adobe CS5.5 not working Java Problem

Hi

When I try to start Adobe CS5.5 InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop.

They all will not start up and have this error message: To open “Adobe InDesign CS5.5,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet. To install a Java runtime later, open “Adobe InDesign CS5.5” again.

I am connect to the internet using Wi--Fi.

I get the same message when I go to App Utilities Java Prefs.

This only started after installing Lion. Thanks Apple. Does anyone now how to fix this problem.

Hi,

Yes I found how to fix it. Go to apple.com/support then downloads and then search for java update for lion then download and install. That will fix it because the java update was not included in the lion install.

This will fix it.

Try this method suggested by Adobe:

You can use the following method to initiate the Java runtime installation or confirm it is currently installed.

Go to Applications > Utilities > Java Preferences.
Open the Java Preferences.
If Java is not installed, you receive the following message:
“To open “Java Preferences," you need a Java runtime. Would you like to install one now?”

I'm having the same problem, but I've done all the Lion updates available and when I try doing it through the Java utilities I get the same message about not being connected to the internet. Any ideas?

Hi,

Yes their is a easy fix, just go to Apple link below:

Java for OS X Lion

This release installs Java SE 6 version 1.6.0_26. OS X Lion does not provide a Java runtime by default.

Do this install and then CS5 will work. Apple did not include this feature in their Lion install through the App Store.
